No help from the government unless we complain!!! We all think that we cant do anything about this problem!!! i urge you to write to your state reps, or senators, governors, etc,,, they all are available on the internet to write to!!! There has got to be a stop to this. I watch bloomberg every single day,, and the money these ceos are getting for NOTHING is incredible. They are taking profits of over 200%--do any of you take a profit of that amount for your income? or on anything for that matter. We all (in the usa), have got to start to get mad, and write these people who run our country. if we don't it will just continue and they won't care to help us out!!!!

I was just talking to my cousin about this same topic. It seems as if we have gotten used to these high gas prices. My Ford Windstar mini-van used to cost 20 dollars to fill it up when I first bought it. Now its close to 50 dollars. It seems like over the last 7 or 8 years, prices of everything have increased substantially. The price of gas, homes, cars and everything else has skyrocketed. Middle class and lower class people are suffering the most. Lloyd

you are correct in the fact that mid-lower suffer the most. But we do have a voice, and can speak up and not lay down and take it anymore! just an email with your comments like you posted will make someone feel the pain we feel. Its time to get a handle on this problem, and i think if enough of us stop for a minute to write an email to our state reps, it might make a difference. I watched a program on television yesterday that mentioned if everyone in the USA stopped for one day buying gasoline, we would have 12 years of over supply! imagine that! We just have to stop taking this baloney about there not being any oil-we are not stupid.

I think we are all thinking- It’s just not that simple. What is it going to accomplish if I write and no one else does. Little ole me isn’t going to be enough to change the world. I know this is exactly how I feel. I complain, gripe, and even cringe when I have to get gas! I’m miserable the whole time filling up and watching the dollars go so high! It is ridiculous! Maybe just maybe if we would all start writing- and I mean all of us! It is going to take way more than just me or you... Something will be done. We need to get rid of the attitude what can I do? And do it! I hope all of us Americans read your post and decide today is the day to make that change. Today is the day I’m going to stand up and say enough is enough! I know I am! Thanks for the reminder.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and to be active in something that will do good for all of us out there! I myself emailed 5 senators and our local representatives today., and i'm emailing the govenor of our state right after this post. its easy to do, you just look up your state, and then put .gov after it,, it lists all of your local and state reps. Write On!!!

I'm not sure I have sny great answer. I do know that when thte price gets to $3.00 + that seems to be a signal to people to not only complain, to use les gas which drops the demand. Thats what happened last time. The prices turn my stomach now!! Thankfully, I do not have to commute, I am home full time and BOY do I ever make the most of a trip out on errands!!!! No more just bopping around!!!!

its so funny that we just assume the prices are going to go up and we will just keep paying. How in the world do people expect to keep it up? We need to be outspoken with our government and our state reps. This should not be a problem in this day and age.

Hello, lpetges, I agree with you about writing to them, but unfortunately they get money FROM these oil companies so who do you really think they are going to listen to? I don't vote for the people that I think only have big buisness on their minds/agendas. I am wondering why we don't use something instead of gasoline such as sun/electric powered. I believe that it is sad what you said, but all we can do is get angry and find some other way instead of gasoline (such as using corn to power the cars). Have a nice day. Pablo

the government keeps progress with corn and such things difficult and expensive. so, that the oil companies really have a monopoly with the public. its ashame that this has come to this situation. it not only affects our driving, but drives inflation up because the truckers, and the transportation system just pass the buck on to the next person down the line, so that groceries and clothing, and everything you buy is more expensive,, and then they wonder why we have a problem?? It is unfortunate that the middle class and the poor are the only people affected. And they don't really care about the lower class citizen-so its of utmost importance for us to be made sure our voices are heard, and our thoughts are made clear to them! Its nice to know that you vote! many people who complain have never even taken the time to vote!
