Have you ever been mistaken for someone else? Someone famous?

Several years ago I was walking through a local mall shopping with my 4 year old daughter. I began to notice two older women, probably in their 70s, kept showing up in the same stores I was going into. I began to notice them staring and pointing at me. Finally, one of them came up to me and asked me for my autograph. I asked her who she thought I was. She said she knew I was Garth Brooks. I laughed and told her I wasn't. They both insisted I was as a he was in town that night for a concert and they were going to be there. They kept asking me for my autograph and a few other people began to come to where we were out of curiosity. My daughter was getting a little scared. Finally, so I could get away with my daughter safely, I told them I would autograph something for them. They each took out a small book they carried, for just such occasions they said, and I signed: "Garth Brooks" in their books. They smiled, giggled like children, and left happy, never reading what I signed. I turned to leave and there were several other pens and papers were staring back at me. I quickly signed them and left. I know that somewhere there are about 40 people who think they met Garth Brooks in a shopping mall in Virginia with his daughter...LOL

I have never been told I look like someone famous. I have to admit I'm glad I haven't, it sounds like you had quite an interesting day with your daughter. My question is did you actually sign it as Garth Brooks or as your own name. I would have signed it as my own name so that way people would feel really stupid when they realized who you really were.

Yes, many times. It was my first year in high school. I was eating at the cafeteria when all of a sudden a girl came up to me and told me that I look like someone else. As what she described who I look like, I recognized that she was talking about a famous star. At first it's hard to believe but as days goes by, more and more people would approach me and tell me the same thing. Sometimes, I get annoyed because I don't want to be look-a-like. I want to be unique!

You are unique, no matter what we may look like to someone else, we are all unique.
