For all those on AC how many page views are you averaging per article? I'm averaging around 200 per article.
I have 50 articles on AC and have just earned the bonus. You need 10,000 page views to get the $15 bonus.
Lately AC has declined 7 of my last 8 articles for pay. I could put them on for free, but choose not to at this point. I'm wondering if I do not have enough page views per article for them? Maybe that is why they are rejecting my latest articles.
So I would appreciate it if you could tell me if I'm in the ballpark at 200 page views for articles?

I have to say Mike07 that I don't get that many view per article. I have several articles on AC and lately have been doing okay.
I'm learning it's not the article itself, but the grammar, the wording, the spelling and recently, how many other articles are of the same nature.
I do submit some of my stuff for non-pay just to have it out there. More of a chance someone will see it.
It's interesting what they decline or don't. They usually give a reason don't they? Maybe if you reword it a little and resubmit it they will change their mind.

Hi Terilee! They used to give me a reason but not too much lately. I'm in the process of rewording the titles and a few keywords. I did that once before on a rejected article and they then bought it. I did one on the Sopranos I thought they would buy for sure but they didn't. And no reason why. I put it up on Constant Content and will see if it sells there. I sold one that AC rejected there already.
If there is any real rhyme or reason as to why AC accepts or rejects articles I don't know it. It is interesting though. And all writers get rejected. Hemmingway wall papered a room in his house with rejection letters!

Just hang in there Mike. Maybe someone will say the same about us one day. Mike and Terilee wallpapered their home with rejections and look how famous they are now. lol

I have 20 articles that were in place for the last update and I'm averaging 165 views per. That's pretty dismal compared to folks who are running over 1,000 but for me it's stellar. I haven't promoted for squat, although I submitted my RSS feed in a couple of places this week so we'll see if it makes a difference. The whole idea that even that many people have read my work thrills me!
I've not had a rejection yet, but I tend to write on off-the-wall subjects that aren't really covered at AC yet. I've read a lot on the boards over there that rejections are way up, so it's not just you. I know they've warned a few people that they need to get their page views up before they'll get more (or anything) for their articles. I only submit two or three a week, if that, so I figure I'm sort of flying under the radar right now.
What I've been doing on some of mine is publishing a short version on Helium and letting them sit to see how they do. The ones that settle in at #1 or #2 ranking and the ones that earn fast I re-work for AC. So far, those have paid pretty well (considering they're non-exclusive) and one of them was the one with the most page views this month. Plus, that way I'm earning at both sites!

Think you are using Helium the right way. It should just be a practice site. You cannot make any real money there. Except maybe in the contests. Don't forget to use constant content too. The pay over there is much better. but they are way pickier. No errors at all in grammer. Or in spelling is allowed. But the pay is way better.

I'd say that 200 views per article is pretty darn good. And I think that you are doing great. I counted up my articles, and I've only written 19. The last one I wrote on Earth Day, and they took so long to review it that I had to put it up for free or it would have been too old a story by the time they got around to reviewing it. From what I've been reading here on MyLot, it seems like they have really toughened up in their article selection lately. Many people have been complaining about having their articles rejected.

I'm relatively new and haven't done anything to promote my articles yet although I've published about ten. I have almost no page views so it sounds to me like you are doing great. I've only had one decline which they said was op/ed and not something they published much. I did get an offer of $3.89 for an article that I thought was okay. I declined the offer and now I think I'll do a little rewriting and put it in this month's contest. Just sort of my little revenge. I really don't expect to win but if I did, that sould be irony at its best.
