Heavy Rock = Violence erm no hun, I don't think so. Heavy metal and rock music bands are not in the least bit offensive, not when compared with some of the rappers and gangsta rappers who seem to promote violence towards women and murder and rape on a daily basis. Sorry but I disagree with you completely, I would sooner go to a metal or rock gig than be around some of the rappers

Most of the texts are violents and most of the young people accept them word for word ...This is music composed to be aggressive, to strike the attention now...and that`s one of the reason when the youth listens it -to react too impulsive

hey guys i dont think heavy metal is an aggressive music. i think it is more so the attitude of the listener that needs to be taken into account, i.e columbine! the news blamed marilyn manson for the shooting due to his " anti life" songs but those two kids were pretty screwed up before marilyn manson came along. i listen to korn and metallica but i am not a wierd psycho, i am a fother of a beautiful 3 year old daughter. another point is woodstock 99. the fred durst inspired riot. it happend because fred got on stage and TOLD people to smash **** up, thusly not being his music or the other bands music that caused the riot. cheers from oz

I have been listening to heavy metal for years. As it is my choosen type of music to listen to. I don't think you can relate rock with voilence at all. Why do you think that for? Please explain why you think the way you do. I think music can be related to voilence by the lyrics in the songs. Like the song Cop Killers. Come on now..that promotes voilence right there. Is that rock or heavy metal song? No way. It is a rap song. I can name a few other rap songs right off the top of my head that promotes voilence.

It is not because of the music or the band, it is because of the interpretation of the listener. Not only music or band can affect people, there is so many fact that movie, television, game, internet, etc can make people worse or good. So it is depend on us, maybe you have to learn in communication science, nimz

There's bands that play very brutal and their color is really vicious, sometime even extreme and immoral, but to tell the truth they're archived high level of technique and showmanship, I enjoy them very much. If you want my point, well, it's very pointless to discuss about some particular cases among the huge genres of rock. Plus, heavy metal is one of the slowest and least violence gerne.

Look at that this way... I am a game player. I used to play very violent video games such as: Mortal Kombat, Doom, Resident Evil, Silent Hill... Should I write more?? So, does it make me violent? Did I killed anyone? The answer is no. What I point to say is, it is not music, nor games, nor TV that makes us violent, it is our family, friends, education, governement... etc... In Croatia we had a war but still, with a support of family and friends and my own way of thinking, I remained normal person. And when we talk about music, I listen to: prodigy, metallica, some little bit of COF, Dimmu Borgir, metall in general, but also electronic music, and I still consider myself a normal person... (maybe someone doesn't, who knows :-)

Motorhead - one of the greatest rock bands in the world.
nope it is a big no.there is no way that heavy metal and rock promote violence.they only bring out the truth of the world which is untold out there through their music.tell me one band which is offensive.the fact of the matter is that these bands express only or comment strongly on what is happening around them.i do not tend to believe they promote violence.most of the rappers out there do that.they do it and they do it directly.they are racist and sexist and in your face directly.
