Today it is April 25, and in Italy we celebrate the memory of the end of WWII (april 24 1945) in our nation and moreover the end of nazi occupation of our country. Did you know that? And what is your national holiday in your country?

April 25th is also a national holiday here in australia...to us it represents australia landing in gallipoli in the first world war and to all those soldiers who lost there lives there...landing in gallipoli was the worst day for australia during any world war that was the time we lost most of our soldiers...

I knew about Gallipoli because of I like history... I also saw the movie (with a young Mel Gibson) about the story of two young soldiers of the ANZAC, but I didn't know that landing in gallipoli took place in april 25th... In Italy we celabrate the memory of our soldiers lost in war in november 4th, the day of the victory against Germany and the Austro-Hungarian Empire in WWI (november 4th 1918) and that is the day when we commemorate the unknown soldier that is buried in the "Altare della patria" in Rome...

That is a great reason for a holiday. Today on my calendar says is Administrative Professionals day. How truly stupid a day that is! We celebrate veterans day on Nov. 11th. That is a day I can agree with. We must remember the men and women who fought for our freedom. Have a good day and let's be all thankful that the nazis lost!
