What should be the base of a good relationship?

We usually establish a deep relationship with someone.But i think our relationship must be based on certain ethicks and principal which keep ours head and spirit high.What are your views?

I think Trust. If you don't have it you will be miserable. Also I guess honesty is a big one too. If you can't be honest with the person you are in a relationship with then i don't think it will go to far.
