OVERLOAD
--- my highschool classmates and i (all girls) went into the town next to ours about half an hour away. the 20 of us couldn't fit comfortably in a jeepney designed for 16 passengers. so some of the girls had to sit on someone's lap.
the jeepney was driving too fast coz there was no traffic... when suddenly it screeched into a stop. imagine that half of the seats in the jeepney became empty... right! all 20 of us ended up piled behind the driver's seat, one on top of the other. :)

One time, I fell asleep in the jeepney! It was so embarassing! It was just good that my mom and brother were there to wake me up! All that commuting really drained all my energy.

Annoying people riding jeepneys:
1) Those that choose to sit near the opening but expects you, the newly arrived passenger to scoot over to the front so that you can give their fares to the driver.
2) Girls who have the illusion that they are shampoo commercial models and let their long hair fly freely this way and that, never considering that the passenger behind them is already spluttering out hair and having his/her face whipped with the pesky strands.
3) Being squeezed between two fat people who have wide chests and shoulders -- imagine small-framed me like a hotdog inside a hamburger bun :( Uncomfortable!!!

Something bad happened to me, during my college years. I was on my way home, riding front of the jeepney, when suddenly someone snatched my necklace. It was really very fast and painful. I was shocked, then I got nervous. I never wore again any necklace until I graduated from college. That was so precious tome. My mom gave it to me.

It was pretty normal. Riding home in a jeepney going to Monumento. We were in Blumentritt / Rizal Avenue area. The traffic was worse as usual.
The jeepney was jam-packed and i'm sleepy. Suddenly we found ourselves - me, the passengers, and the jeepney of course, in the middle of the railroad track because of the traffic.
And then the PNR train honked his horn - "toot-toot"
the last thing i know, i woke up with only me and the driver in the jeepney - and the train is still moving toward us. the jeepney can't get out of the tracks because there are vehicles in front and at the back of the jeepney.
At the last moment, before the train would have hit us, the driver managed to move his jeepney to a safe place.
Now that's what you call "standing your ground"!
(actually, i don't have any money left to transfer to another jeepney - LOL )
