What paint do you use?

We moved to this apartment about 2 months ago. It's the first time we are free to do what we want to the place, including painting. My boyfriend's bosses have an acoount with Home Depot and that's where we get the paint since they pay for it for us, as long as we paint the place ourselves. Fine. So we have bought Behr paint. It worked out very well in the computer room. The hallway and bathroom took much more time. But that's also because they had to be primed and painted as the walls were wood paneling. I've painted all the trim white. I've been using Behr interior semi-gloss paint. It's been such a pain. I've had to paint the casing around the window and door 2-3 times just to get it to cover. I'm convinced that this apartment eats paint! So what brand of paint do you buy?

I bought a house a year ago, I had to paint everything too. I swear my walls were eating the paint. I bought my paint from Walmarts. It had been many many years since the walls had been painted. I have 4 coats of paint on most of it. The walls just soaked up the paint like a sponge. Good luck finishing up, I still have more painting to do.

Is the house an older house? In our case the place is decently old. And it has mainly plaster walls. I'm wondering if it's just the oldness of the place that makes everything require so much paint. Crazy I tell ya. That's how this place is, just soaks the paint right up. I'm glad we haven't had to pay for the paint or else I'd be reallllllly mad. We still have the kitchen, living room, sitting room and our bedroom to do!

Yes my house is an older house, almost 100 yrs old. I have the old plaster walls, that is probably why the walls drink the paint. Just think when you are all done, it won't need painting for a long time.

When I first started to buy the paint, I bought gallons, then I ran out. I went ahead and bought a 5 gallon bucket of paint, LOL.
