How much control should a child have over their parents?

I don't think is about the "control" on child. Its all about the educations and learnings process that take place:)

I agree with the previous responses. Children don't want to have control over their parents; it's too scary for them. When they sense that their parents might not be in control, they tend to push and push, desperately trying to see if they will take charge. If you have some specific examples of problems, perhaps we can help?

They should have none. Once you've lost control, you've lost your ability to parent effectively.

Not very much, parents should control their kids. That is what parenting is about. There should be certian times and events when the child can control certian aspects, but never have full control. That is how children get spoiled.

I agree learning to make decisions about all things is part of growing up but start small

in my opinion i would never allow at any time , any moment for my children to control me as a parent when still under my supervision. Though i will be in control I have to respect their rights as children and as a human being.

We have to in certain matters. But major decision should be ours.
