I agree with the previous responses. Children don't want to have control over their parents; it's too scary for them. When they sense that their parents might not be in control, they tend to push and push, desperately trying to see if they will take charge.

They should have none. Once you've lost control, you've lost your ability to parent effectively.

Not very much, parents should control their kids. That is what parenting is about. There should be certian times and events when the child can control certian aspects, but never have full control. That is how children get spoiled.

I agree learning to make decisions about all things is part of growing up but start small
