I just tried to load a live ubuntu onto a 1 meg memory stick using instructions from a web site. I got the OS loaded and it seems good, but for some reason I can't but from it. I have it on a cd but want the convenience of the usb stick so I can test and carry it with me, so that it remembers my settings and some data.
Can anyone help with a link or other instructions so I can see if I did something wrong. I used an instruction page that started with 6.10 but used a 7.04 Feisty Fawn distro on the stick, would that make a difference.
I am not a computer newbie and have played with a live linux disc, so though not a linux expert, I know my way around a computer, and various OS's.

I tried PClinuxOS Minime on a 1 GB drive and had a similar problem. The problem was fixed when I disconnected my webcam just before loading it. Most of the devices are not recognised by the linux Live cd's to minimise space, Try disconnecting unwanted cables plugged into the computer.
