In response to the latest pet food hype, I've compiled a list of sites to help you learn more about what goes into your dog's food. A lot of people have no idea the difference between store brand and premium dog food and couldn't tell a good dog food label from a bad one!
Here are some sites to educate you more on dog food and maybe help you find a healthier one for your pet.
The Dog Food Project

A list of good and bad ingredients, as well as some reviews of organic, vegetarian and grain free brands.
Wording of Pet Food Labels

A glossary of terms found on most pet food labels.
FDA- Pet Food Labels

The FDA's site on interpreting labels
BARFworld

The original Raw Food diet for dogs, pioneered by Dr Ian Billinghurst, for those interested in a homemade diet
ChinaRoad's Canine Diet and Nutrition
http://lowchensaustralia.com/health/diet.htm#
A VERY comprehensive list of tips, charts and outside links to dog nutrition requirements and information. Very helpful site.
Hope this helps! Good luck on your research and here's to a healthier pet!

Mine eat Exclusive by PMI Nutrition. It is a great dog food and everything in it is good for them. I researched a lot before choosing this food. It is not cheap but it's not too expensive either.
Some of the cheaper brands haven't been recalled but they are not good for your dog due to the lower quality of the ingredients.

Maybe read up on some of the links I posted. Ol Roy is full of additives and by products, and while your dog may like it, it may not be the best choice of food out there.

I always cook for my dogs, because I don't believe in dog's food safety for years. Sad to say that I was right....I always read about pet nutrition requirements and supplements...and when I cook, I want to make sure my dogs have good diet...

We don't feed the dog with commercial dog food. Part of reason is that he simply refuses to eat these. It's also because we want him to eat resh food.
So usually we'd prepare cooked meat for him. These are fresh meat and easily bought from the local supermarket. Then we'd cut it up into pieces, boil them and feed him.

Our dogs shih tzu eats dog food with this brand name "Royal Canin", the vet said that it is designed for shih tzu. Our dalmatian also eats dog food but prefers table food or rice. We noticed that he is much healthier when he eats table food.
