Whenever we go out driving a car I always make sure that I have some drinks, snacks or cookies and candies in the car. When we stuck in a traffic jam or relax driving, my husband like to munching....he'll turn a cookie and candy monster...hehehe. With him and my 4 years old daughter in the car...I'll certainly need that extra food supply....and extra drinking water is also a must because after munching they will need more drinks...I do muching too but not as much as my husband though....oeps... Do you also take some snacks, drinks, candies or cookies or even fruit in your car ?!?

Can't say that I really take a lot of snacks along unless we go on a long trip. Do try to take something to drink along. Try to stay away from munching if I can. Don't need it that is for sure but who does. Don't live in a big city so won't get stuck in a traffic jam.

You are pretty lucky to live in place that has no traffic jam, so munching in the car isn't really necessary. That's good !!! Thank you for your respond !!!

We don't have them stashed in the car, but every once in a while we stop at the gas station to get gas and we go inside and get some quick munchies.

That is what I tell my mother to always have drinks and snacks because you will never know when you could also break down or be somewhere longer then you expected and it would be smart for any mom, dad, anybody to always be prepared for the unexpected. Also you never know when your belly button will start fighting with your backbone and need substance. I have to keep a few sugary things on hand at all times since I have low blood sugar...OOPS! Oh and don't forget the handi wipes..total mess otherwise..lol

Smart woman mtdewgurl !!! Always prepared for the unexpected. Been happened twice, when our car all a sudden didn't want to start anymore and we have to wait for at least more than 2 hours, stranded, before our helper arrived. Glad we had those munching...only we forgot the handy wipes....hehehe... Thank you for your lovely respond !!!

It is always good to be prepared, because if you have heard I'm hungary,I'm thirsty repeated every two minutes when something unexpected popped it kind of makes you nerve wrecked. Next time you try to be prepared so you won't evr have to go through it again especially if you have kids and they get whinny, thirsty and hungary. You'd have to have nerves of steel and be wonderwoman..lol

Well if we are driving for a shorter distances like to going for shopping or tosome frioends place etc , normally we don't carry anythings with us . For the distance is too small like some 25 KMs and there is no much of traffic jams involved! But then when we are going out for a long drive we definitely load ourselves with all types of snacks, tofees, Cold Drinks and as you mentioned drinking water also! We have one so, ofcourse now he is teen aged and is stydying his engineering! When he was a kid we had to carry lot of eadibles along with us! We also make some road side parkings near any roadside kiosks or in some jotels to have some munchies or snacks for ourselves! Well some nice food on the long run makes one hapy and keeps the mood elevated! But having too much of food makes me sleepy thats why I don't gey much invoilverd in this activity and I best let this left to my wife and son! Thanks for the topic, I enjopyed answering it !

Whenever we go on drives that would take more than an hour, I make sure to bring along some food, candies, water or soda. Of course, we can always stop over at a gasoline station but the prices in their food counter are a bit high.

That's also true, the snacks, drinks, or candies are more expensive at the gasoline/tank station compares to if you buy them just as a supermarket or groceries store... Thank you for you respond !!!

We don't do much snacking in the car as my husband hates getting his car spilled with whatever. His car is his baby... However, we do have bottles of mineral water and sweets mostly minty ones to freshen our breathe or to keep him awake while driving. If we do travel far on the car, we would have periodical stops at snack stations to have a quick munch before we proceed again for our journey. It's just him... and the kids sometimes loathe him for this...

that's become a little problem for us, because we don't have that habit, to have snacks and water in our car. I said water because we're only allow mineral water available in our car, not soft drinks or some kind of that. it's unhealthy and make us wanna drink more and more. our relatives often complain to us because there's no food in our car, but what can we do? not because we don't want to, just because we don't remember to provide that.

I guess that won't be a too much problem there since there are a lot of snack/drink/fruit seller selling that on the street (you don't even have to go out of your car). Pure drinking/mineral water definitely need for that hot climate otherwise as you said....it will make you more thirsty.... Thank you for your respond !!!

Well I am an interstate truck driver, so I always have food when I am in the truck. I do tend to take healthy food though, things like fruit and chopped up rawe vegetables. Anything else is too filling and that can make me drowsy, but these sorts of things I can eat while I am driving along. I pull over for about 5 minutes every couple of hours for a bit of a break with a half an hour break after every 5 hours of driving. That is the law, so I have a good meal then, but in the meantime there is always the food snacks plus water to drink. Too much sugary food also makes people tired, and that can be dangerous when driving. If you are only going short distances it will not matter, but if for anything more than an hour then stick with healthy stuff for the driver.

One my husband friend is also an interstate truck driver. Once he invited us to have a look in his humble truck. I was totally amazed....he got all the luxury as home. Bed, fridge, coffee makers...you name it. But just like you...he tend to take healthy food for the same reason. Wauw...!!! Thank you for sharing !!!

I have 4 years old daughter that likes to talk a lot. I don't mind though but she can just talking for hours and hours and hours. So....give her something to eat or drink for a short break certainly help my husband to concentrate on his driving also our poor ears...hehehe.... Maybe later when she's a bit older probably thinking the same as your daughter about diet.... Thank you for your respond !!

I don't, my kids are getting to be old enough where they need to learn to wait until we get home. If we go on longer trips we take healthy snacks and water. We have toys in the car, the older one reads books to keep herself and the little one entertained. They play games like rock, paper, scissors and other stuff.

I make sure too, I have snacks, drinks, candies ..etc..especially if we are going on long trips and for my daughter. My siblings are impatient with me, while I'm preparing and running from one thing to another. But they don't complain when we get stock into traffic and they have something to munch on. (^^,)

You are pretty lucky. Here, unless you buy it from groceries store, the price of snacks will be quite expensive especially if buy it on a gas station. Thank you for your respond !!!
