I dont know about writing a novel in one night but did you know that Sylvester Stallone wrote the movie Rocky 1 in 45 minutes. Not a bad film that never really had much thought put into it. I guess what I am saying is, if you do have a good outline then the rest should come easily. Best of luck.

I had two good articles that could have been made into books in a night however they were rejected by a site. Though that there were too many keywords etc. So although we think things are great others often have their own ideas. Good luck with all yours and hopefully I can buy one of your books someday!! Hopefully with your artwork included.

I've decided on getting 2 versions of my work out there, one novel with words and the occasional black and white pen and ink drawings scattered throughout, and a graphic novel with about 300 to 500 pages. Still working throughout the night on these... Aswell as my mammoth 10 book graphic novels that I have been working on for over 7 or 8 years. (on and off)

I know this is possible. My daughter wrote a kids book for Young Authors when she went to public school. She wrote it and did the picture in about 5 hours. Though it was a kids book, it did have at least four sentences per page. She won first place on that book. It was funny and well written. Because she won, her book was published and is now in the schools library for others to enjoy. I think a long novel, though most could be worked out in a night, would take additional days of editing in most cases. I have hear of authors getting inspired though and writing best selling novels in less than 24 hours. So I know it is possible. Good luck with your writing.

Cheers there, I write mainly fantasy stuff with horror elements, but the main thing I am concentrating on is the story and then I'll make a script into a workable format for my graphic novel version of the book, it's all fun to me, and I just can't stop writing. I tryed to write a book when I was at school and wrote about 3 measly sentences and just got fed up with it, but now there is no stopping my speedy writing hand!

Yep. Check out my latest blog posting on my MySpace blog, lol: I have something on my mind that shouldn't even be there. Scares the hell out of me some days, and some days I just let it run free. I'll never tell what's in my private hell. David Lee Roth just won't shut up!! Stop mocking me, Dave, no one cares what you think anymore. Go find Waldo and leave me alone!! I have damn near everything I want. Why can't this let me be? There's nothing wrong with my life . . . except this dream. Why can't I make it go away? I'm getting to where I wan't to kick the sandman in the nuts. In the infamous words of Lennon himself, "Koo-koo-ka-choo...hey, hey, hey..."

Right?... I once wrote a detailed description of a peanut shell and made up a superheroe name and costume for it but I lost it, it's around here somewhere.. random thoughts are stray plans of alien invasions y'know I saw it on the discovery channel!!

I can write poems off the top of my head at the rate of several per night, so I suppose that could be termed as equivalent to a book. My poems come from experiences in life, mainly. Some of the ideas have been given to me by friends in discussion, when I pick out pieces and form a picture in my mind. Yes, it surely is possible to write a book in one night. Brightest Blessings.

I don't think it is possible to write a whole book in one night. Books need editing and revisions before they are complete. Sure you could get a good outline or first chapters done, I've done so myself. But like I said there needs to be a lot more time put into it before it will be a great book.

I write songs and poems. I sometimes hear about other people taken months, even years, to write a song or a poem and I wonder how it could take that long! I don't think I could write an entire book in one night but if I write poems or songs, they only take a few minutes and I have written quite a lot which I was proud of.

I think that's pretty sweet; having an outline means that you know where you are going. Of course getting the whole thing together is something else (a lot of work), but the inspiration for something is key to its success. You are on your way! I've never done anything like this, but I can remember times when I wrote something I thought was pretty good and it was a great feeling. I had surprised myself. Good luck with the rest of your book.

I can agree that one very good long poem is possible to write in one night. One well finished short story one can write in one night. It is also possible that one can write one act play during one night... ...But one book... if we can adjoin'let' with 'book' then it also possible, ... One can write one booklet in one night. But a book? Question remains question to go ahead for discussion!
