I have to admit I have stopped smoking for over 2 years now, if i am being honest with myself I miss it but am still glad I stopped and would never dream of starting again. My query is though, and it is really for the smokers out there but who nags you the most to give up. Non Smokers or Ex Smokers? I have been told that I am a pain in the neck to my smoking friends to get them to stop. I think my reasoning behind this is because I was a smoker and am no longer and can justify the health benefits more easily.

Congratulations for quitting. . .I'm sure you are now enjoying its health benefits. . but of course, your smoking friends will find it strange, you being an ex-smoker. What's the big deal? Both ex-smokers and real non-smokers are NON-SMOKERS now, and they are not worst. I am a certified non-smoker but I don't bother other people who smoke. May I share this personal story? Both my father and brothers were chain smokers. . . but both have already passed away because of. . .of course, smoking. My only regret was I was not as persistent as to tell them to quit smoking....I did on several occasions, but they simply would not heed me. . .But I pray that you keep up being just an ex-smoker.. .

First, I would like to congratulate you for quitting smoking. I know it is really hard but you did it. And yes, it is beneficial for your health. Smokers do acquire a lot of sickness unlike non-smokers. Obviously, people like you who quitted smoking are more into preaching to stop smoking than those who did not smoke at all. You've been there, so for sure, you know why they have to stop it as the soonest time possible.

I have never smoked adn congradulations on quitting.
From my perscpecticve it is even both non smoker and reformed smokers it really depends on the person who is complaining I have noticed that smokers will target a reformed smoker if they are in the group and they have to leave the table or group to go have a smoke out side they tend to blame the non smoker before they blame the peopel who never smoked. I have seen where soem people have singled out the reformed smoker as the reason they have to go to a special area to smoke. Refomed smoker also seem a little more sensitive to comments from smokers too when the smokers make them. Again keep being stong adn stay smoke free.

My kids....the non smokers....are the ones that nag me the most to quit. It makes me feel guilty but as you know, it's hard to quit.
I'd like to ask HOW you quit? I ask alot of people that have quit for a long time and for good and I usually get the "cold turkey" as a response.....
I'd like to congratulate you on quitting!
I'm working on the mind set to quit.....
but you can nag me all you want!! :)

I think the reasons people nag are different, and tat would make non-smokers worse.
People who have never smoked nag because your smoke is making them sick and they don't know how difficult it can be to quit.
Ex-smokers are nagging you because you are making them sick, they also know the damage you are doing to yourself, and they know how hard it is to quit, but just want you to get on with it because they also know it can be done.
I would think the ex-smoker would be more formidable than the whiney never have smoked nagger.
