Ucla has done research and found that shingles patients that were did tai chi faired better then those that went to stress management. It is believed that it helps the depressed immune system. This is very good news as I'm have another outbreak of shingles and am not a happy camper right now ..I wonder if anyone out there does tai chi?Has it helped any illness that you know of?
Thanks All

mom - you should have told me that you were suffering more again! I am sending you big hugs sweetness {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}} hope that you feel better soon! I have never done Taichi so I can't really say if it would help or not but surely anything is worth a try? Let me know how you are getting on - love you xxx

Oh I have had shingles and this is caused by stress as you must of had chicken pox when you were a child as the virus actually stays in your body and when you are under stress then you will get shingles so no wonder that you have this at this time as you have been through a lot recently and that is why you have these dreadful shingles again.

that sounds very interesting but how do you do tai chi? Don't you need a lot of training?

Thanks for this nice article. I started feeling in nerves of my legs and I started doing just one exercise which open the hips etc. and soon the feelings subsided. I suffer with nerve pain when I get anxious or nervous. I think it comes from my stomach because that is where most of my stress goes and then comes out in the nerves. Not a fun thing to have. I will have to work with my Ti Chi for seniors. I know that the exercise is based on opening the joints to let blood flow and to boost immune system.

Thanks for that information. I'll have to send that on to my fiances grandfather. He is 86 and has shingles now for almost 1 year. The actual outbreak has pretty well gone away but he still has stabbing pains from it. He has been on some heavy duty pain killers for some time now. And the worst part is his doctor told him that when people his age get shingles that it's likely that they'll have them for the rest of their lives. So needless to say him finding that out didn't help since stress just makes shingles worse. I will definitely let him know about TaiChi. I'm sure at this point he would be willing to try anything to get better.
