Misleading scam sites

What's your views on those sites which offer people something, lets say to join you get $5 or they'll pay you to post and when you reach the limit nothing.
Do you find misleading sites to be a waste of resources online? (example a waste of space)
Personally I don't like sites which say something they don't deliver and weather paid sites or sites which say they'll help members. They honestly do drive me crazy, especially when my friends tell they've been ripped off.

yup. better to do researching first before getting involve with anything on the net. there are lots of forums already avaiable for us to search on. better look through them and see if it's for real or not.

@chileman;
The cyber worlds probably infested with a lot of these, it's a shame nothing "done" to shut them down for being scams. If they work businesses in the real world they would be, oh well =)

Good point, you can easily search the domain and add scam to the search string, normally other sites have discussed it and if this doesn't work there's always an option of searching for unhappy members.
Kudos =)

That's one thing that I don't easily get involved at, I am really very hard to convince when it comes to joining money-making sites. That's the first thing that I did here in mylot, as I am not that active during my first weeks. But when I noticed others, especially filipino members like me that they have been payed, I continued posting here and pursued my interest. I did join another earning site, just to entertain my friend's request. I was lucky to notice their inconsistencies the first time I was there, so I didn't put my whole heart into it. Plus, I am not enjoying it also because it was way too different from what mylot is all about. I miss the conversation and the sharing of views, all we just do there is post and respond like a robot answering a phone call!;)
I'm glad that mylot is still one of the best earning site here in the net, and I try to enjoy every minute that I am here..

Yes, they are a total waste of time and resources. I think there are 30 or more scam sites for every legitimate one. Many sites are so misleading that they could be qualified as outright lies. And since there is a big push to make money in the internet, these sites pop up faster than weeds in April. That is why I pay no attention to new sites, most are fakes. I tried a few and they were a complete waste of time.

Most sites on the internet promising to pay you are scams. 95% of them. They aren't wasting space, they are paying for their domain name just like anyone else. YES they prey on the ignorant, naive and hopeful. But they can only drive you crazy if you visit them. I just ignore them. I don't believe their claims so I just move on to the next site.

Yeah it was so much irritating when u find that such particular site is nothing but a spam,I too had worked on many such sites like ididots day and night and at last what I got just nothing... I sometimes thought that why all those sites should not be banned who just mislead us...I just hope this site will go long way for me...

i always get p*ssed off whenever i find myself a victim of such sites. isn't it so annoying? you spend hours, days or invest money in such a site hoping that you will get what they have promised you. and yet, it turned out that your time, energy and hard earned money went all into waste? i hate seeing myself in such a scene.
through the experiences i got online, i no longer easily believe in too much promises one can get from such sites. i learned to be patient and study the site first before joining. i learned to be patient in a way like it's okey if the site does not promise me huge returns or huge promises with my hard work... but atleast, i get paid as i was told. anyway, money is always hard earned online or offline.
and so, before introducing someone to a certain site, i make sure i had been paid many times before dragging him to that place. my rule is, if it's a scam, atleast i did not drag someone with me down. if it's a good site, atleast i know i am going to help someone up.
happy mylotting!

Yes I agree. I personally don't really get involved with any other Internet sites but MyLot, I work full time, so I really don't have the time to do lots of other Internet stuff apart from chating to my friends on MSN and exchanging emails. However, I do feel sorry for other people when these places turn out to be scams. It seems that they take advantage of those with little money who rae struggling to help themselves, by raising their hopes and then dashing them again:-((

Too general, my friend... so much so that it's hard to make specific remarks. :P
But generally speaking, there are legitimate reasons for e.g. forcing you to reach a certain post count or min payout before you see some real cash. If the site is a legitimate one, you are likely going to stick with it anyway. So there isn't really too much to "worry" about.
I have to say though that many of such sites look scammy and I am always jittery when signing up for them. :PP

Yes they're annoying and then you receive endless e-mails to do this survey but you have to complete an offer. I'm vowing to not waste my time on any more of these sites!!
