Has this world always been like this?

Seriously!?! Or is it that I just never kept up with news events before a couple years ago...It seems like this world just keeps getting worse and worse and worse. Today on the news, 12 year old murders man, tornados kill 10, Virgina Tech shooting, loosing soldiers in Iraq...and these are just to name a few! Things are just horrible now a days. Seems like the world is falling apart. And it seems like people do meaner and meaner things as the days go by. I'm truly scared for my children. I don't even want to imagine how I would keep a hold and take care of 5 children if there were a bomb, or flooding, or tornados. It scares me to death. I know noone wants to really talk about this, because if you don't imagine it, it won't come true (in your head, or mine atleast). You don't want to ever think of that day that "might" come. For me, It would probably make me crazy. I do feel like I need to sit my kids down and say if this happens~you are to do this. Or if that happens, do that. I need to have some kind of a plan. But, like I said, it scares me to death. I'm starting to really stress over it. Am I being paranoid or just worrying too much? Is there anyone else that feels like this?
