Sleeping alone.......

If you have to sleep alone without your spouse/significant other, do you find it hard to fall asleep? Do you sleep on his/her side of the bed? When my husband has to work the late night shift and I go to bed alone, I always sleep with the tv on. I set the timer on the tv so it shuts offs after I am asleep. I usually will toss between my side of the bed and my husbands, but usually end up sleeping most of the night on his side. I guess after being married so many years, it's just strange to sleep alone.

I SO do this. When my husband is late or if he is gone for any reason, I snuggle up to his pillow, all up on his side of the bed, and I also go to bed with the TV on and the sleep timer set. Do you ever sleep in your husband's shirt so you can inhale his scent? Scent is a strong memory trigger and can also be comforting.

No I haven't slept in his shirt, I'll have to try that next time. He's working late right now so I'm in bed watching Jay Leno and getting heavy eyes!

I find it very hard to fall asleep without my hubby. I feel so much safer and happier when he's next to me. I usually keep a pillow next to me when he's not there so I have something to hold!LOL!

how cute. you are so close to each other, too, just like the poster. i hope that you can have more happy days together until the days of old, just like some old folks i know. i find it to nice to see couples still loving and getting old together. good luck.

He's definitly the type of man I want to grow old with. I have been blessed with a wonderful man that loves me as much as I love him...I hope!LOL!

this has been happening to you when your husband is not with you in bed to sleep at night because, you have become so used to having him beside you each night. this is not so with me because, my husband and i have been estranged for so many years now and we have never gone close to each other as husband and wife.

It is strange to sleep alone. I have been on midnight shift for quite sometime now, so we only sleep together when I am off. Now it's strange to sleep together..lol. We both sleep on the same side of the bed (which I give up when I'm off) and he uses my pillows. I hate that because he drools. lol But he likes to "smell me" when he sleeps and I am not there and I feel the same way. So when we are both there we are fighting over pillows, sides , etc, It's pretty funny now.

I really love my husband but I love it when he falls asleep on the couch! When he sleeps with me he wraps his arms around me and holds me so tightly that I can't move all night. I always wake up sweaty and with a crick in my neck from being spooned for 8 hours straight. He also loves to sleep with the tv on and I don't sleep well with that much noise and distraction.

I got so used to sleeping in the same bed as my boyfriend so now when he doesn't stay over, it takes me a long time to get comfortable enough to go to sleep..I told him about it and he said the same thing...

I find it very difficult to sleep without my husband and normally ensure that he is at home in time. If i happen to sleep without him i hold his pillow tight instead of him while going to sleep.

Maybe because i haven't married yet so is fine for me to sleep alone. I have my own room with a big double bed, and i like to sleep alone because i can change my position from left side to the other side LOL. But sometimes when my cousin come and she slept with me, i will so weird have to share my lovely bed to her, is fine but not comfortable for me. I can imagine if i get married and my husband sleep beside me LOL.

I haven't married yet. But I always sleep with my sister in a double bed. It isn't as nice as it looks. Because my sister always sleep with many movement. and I often get punch from her hand. Hikz.. So, sometimes when she didn't sleep at home, I'm glad for sleeping alone. However, I feel strange too when she didn't sleep with me. I feel that my bed is very wide. So, when she didn't be at home, I usually play until nite, and make my body tired, so I can sleep as fast as my body touch the bed. =P

I still have a hard time sleeping alone, difficulty getting to sleep, and staying that way. When I first broke up with my fiance, I used to wake up on his side of the bed all the time. It gets less and less the more often you do it. I also noticed that the nightmares that plagued me so often before I got together with him, have returned full force and refuse to go away. When he was with me, I wouldn't have them very often at all.
