Elvis on Idol.... Impersonator or Video Technology?

yeah, when it showed him i was like ----- (8O WHAT! lol. But it's so weird because it looked like he was standing on stage and stuff! It was cool, but kind of freaky. They did do it VERY well, it was awesome!

It was all computerized. They used an old elvis performance and I believe they had Celine Dion sing it and just, know and understand he was "beside" her.. It was pretty convincing though! I thought it was interesting.

They just showed a clip of it on the news. I did see it on American Idol as well. I thought it was an impersonator at first but thought the guy looked way too much like Elvis. Eventually I figured it had to be a split screen. On the news they did say it was done by computer technology. So it was the real Elvis. Celine made it look real by looking over at him while he was singing. It was very well done.

The Celine and Elvis duo was done with computer technology, probably the way a lot of effects were done for the movie "Forrest Gump," joining old video with new actions and using a blue screen. Personally I did not like the piece. Maybe it's just that I've never been an Elvis or Celine fan that the combined duo just didn't duo it for me (ha). I loved the performances by a lot of other folks, including Annie Lennox, Josh Groban and the African Children's Choir, and Kelly Clarkson and Jeff Beck. Poor Jordan, I think she was a little freaked out tonight, thinking she was going home. Still, it was a good program, and many of the children's stories were heart-wrenching.

I seen it and it sure was Elvis alright. It was a video technology. They did a good job on it. It was awesome. It looked so real.

Lisa Marie has made a video with her dad in the same way. It was NOT live like the rest of the show. They have computers for awhile now that can make movies like that. Marvin Gaye made a video like that with his son. Its nothing new i have seen videos made like this before. Granted since i am a HUGE elvis fan i will be donating and downloading it from itunes along with the star video since i am from Cleveland and LeBron was in it.

I thought it was absolutely awesome. It was so real it was almost spooky. It was computer technology but what a great job they looked as if they were actually singing together.

That was the real Elvis and they did the duet excellent since he sang that song in 1968 and that was the year Celine Dion was born. Very good performance.

Modern technology is amazing and it was indeed Elvis singing with Celine. The original performance of Elvis singing was from a concert he did back in 1968. It was mentioned at the end of the performance that his estate gave permission for them to use this performance to help raise money for Idol Gives Back. I'm sure Celine will have a big hit record from his duet. She did something similar years ago with Frank Sinatra.
