Help on knoppix! Plz

I recently bought a copy of knoppix. When I try to save something into the hard drive, it just says it can't. It is protected. I tried to change the user as root. But I can't. Does anyone know how to modify the read/write options of a drive in knoppix?

I also brought a copy of knoppix. It could read ntfs, fat and ext drives. It is very powerful, we even don't need to install the os. But i also could not write in the drive. may be there are some commands to be used at the starting of knoppix. if you find please inform me too.
