I started my journey at mylot few months ago. It was tough to start with absoultely no backing... no experience... no knowledge of intricacies of starting a discussions... posting a new discussion....how to make friends. In the beginnnig I posted few discussions....but no response or I received one or two responses. Then I posted a discussion...that "I am very disappointed that no one respond to me....I get zero responses". Then some experienced members suggested some ways out and methods to elicit the response from others. I moved slowly... learned from others....how to post a quality discussion and how to attempt a quality response. Gradually, I made some friends...responded to their discussions... as best as I could. Some of the requests sent by me for adding me as 'friend' were rejected outrightly or remained pending. In the beginning it was I who used to send requests for 'friend'. But after sometime... when I continued with my efforts....I started receiving requests for 'friend'. That was perhaps an enouraging sign.... that I am being accepted and being recognised. One of the members also told me that "do not expect much response for your discussions... because there are more than 80,000 members over here."
But with the blessings, wishes and encouragement of my all dear friends I could touch the rating of '9' (94/100) and could touch the magical figure of '500' marks. Thanks to all my friends from bottom of my heart and I will ever remain grateful to them for their unflinching support. One or two questions I would like to ask to my dear and trusted frineds over here -
(i) How do you rate my discussions, what is your opinion on the discussions started by me?
(ii) How do you assess my replies to your discussions and counter comments on their replies by me?
(iii) How do they rate me as their friend?
Though I am a bit hesistant to ask the above questions to my sweet friends, yet I am curious to know so I could overcome my shortcomings and improve myself. In the process.... if I committed any mistakes ... I ask for due apologies from my friends.
Thanks and waiting for their response.

I am glad you started this post, and i am even more glad that you started it when i am online, because i am not here alote lately. This is a good thing asking those questions and i will be glad to answer them.
Each person here has his unique character. It does take a bit of time, till you get to know him and his posting, but after you do, it is very easy to tell him how you see him, rate him, and his posts.
I can tell you that i away rate your discussions with a positive (plus) rating, because i feel that you write your discussions, because the subject does interest you, and not because you have to fill a certain quantity for the paying- earning system.
I can tell you that i do not relate to all of your posts, and i do not response to all of them, but i do read all of them, and always rate them positive, even if i do not respond.
I appreciate your response to the responses of people. You usually answer the people back and even if you do not have something to say, you try to answer and that shows you appreciate them, a thing that is very important to me.
I can tell you that there are people in my friends list that i am do not relate to as before. I do think that people in my friends list should be more active about my responses and so on, but i am glad that you are on my friend list, and i think i did a smart choice when i choose you as my friend. :)

LIRANLOG,
What a reply you have posted to my discussion. It is awesome and more than what I expected...you are senior to me .... even then you encouraged me a lot with all your positive gestures eg always giving me + rating.
Your remarks are really really wounderful and upto the mark when you say - "i feel that you write your discussions, because the subject does interest you, and not because you have to fill a certain quantity for the paying- earning system."
You are very correct, I do not post a discussion, just for filling up some space or for earning few cents.....it is the subject which interests me and I feel the discussion will give opportunity to others to tell about themselves. (IN one of my discussions....one member replied/stated that ...I have started my discussions....because I didn't have any topic to discuss..." to tell you the truth...I felt very disasspointed to read that remark..because I do not like to start a discussion, just for the sake fo it).
It is lovely and inspiring to know that you read each of my discussions, it is my pleasure. You are right...it is not possible for you or me to reply to each of our discussion. I also sometimes not able to post any reply to your discussion, due to one reason or another.
Nice to know that you have appreciated my efforts in commenting to the replies submitted by others. I wish to acknowledge my dear frineds efforts...if I do not give any comment... I feel that the discussion is incomplete and my friends will not feel better....if they do not come to know that what I feel about their replies.
It is really really very flattering to read when you say that you made the right choice in selecting me as your friend. It is my pleasure.
I hope our interaction will continue as it is and you will continue to support me with your encouraging replies, disussions and comments.
I am grateful to you for your reply.

I think we may have started around the same time however you have posted more discussions than I have. You post day to day discussions which I like and you also ask a lot of simple questions so that I do have something to respond to. Some days i have a lot to say and others just a few sentences. Your replies to my responses have always been positive and encouraging thus the reason I continue to respond to your discussions. Keep it up dpak :)

deepak, where till i remember you replied tomy discussio "why good deeds are not paid back". one of the replies were they are paid back but sometimes one needs to keep patience, same thing happened to you.you put on nice discussions as well you were nice to the repliers,so your work and patience were paid back.i must confess you are really an encouraging friend, these days one can find more of fault finders but less of encouraging one.so i must say you are one of those precious ones.

Sonalika, first of all tons of thanks for posting a positive, encouraging and an inspiring reply to my discussion. You remember my reply to yr discussion and you quoted that... it shows how intelligent you are.
To tell you the truth...your observations and remarks about me carry more value than others... because we have become friends recently only ( I sent a request to you and you accepted it). After accepting me as your friend, I found that you replies to most of my discussions... which was very encouraging and thrilling.
I would say that since you yourself are good at heart therefore you always remark in a positive manner. And your comments that - " these days one can find more of fault finders but less of encouraging one.so i must say you are one of those precious ones." are really very flattering and have touched me deeply. Sonalika....I do not believe in finding faults with others or for that matter pointing out mistakes to others.... if this happens...I will be last person to do so. If I cannot write a positive comment....I would prefer to keep quiet, instead of writing a silly or negative comment....I know how bad it feels when you hurt somebody with your negative gestures or words.
I hope your support will continue.
Thanks again.

Hello, i think everyone is just same as you, everything is hard at the beginning and will be better and better when times go by. I had read your discussions and it may be better for you to write something about your personal experience so that they can have depth. Your replies are pretty good and it has in fact reflected by your rating.I think you may have received positive responses from them.
Anyway, work hard and enjoy in the discussions.
good luck

I am very happy for you. Congrats on your 500+ achievement. I always rate your discussions and posts with a + cos i understand that your answers come from your heart and you really mean it. Your journey is somewhat similar to mine, cos i also did not have anybody to coach me. I also learnt "Trial & Error" method, which i think is the best. I also had the support of a lot of friends at myLot, many of them dont come here now, which makes me pretty sad. They were really nice and kind people. I feel that you are a good soul too, and that's why i am keeping you (LOL). I limit my friends to the best quality ones cos, i think its unworthy having a long list of friends who are not keeping up to "friend" standards. You know, the friends i have, kept me alive, when I was not logging on to mylot for more than 3 weeks. Thats the kind of friendship that i value and that's the kind i find in you. So, good luck with your future and i hope we will have a super long friendship. Take care.

You are most welcome and I meant every word of it. I am honoured that you liked my reply and happy to read that you received even a little bit of knowledge from me. Many a people will not appreciate what another will do to them and here you are appreciating even the tiniest. I never doubt my judgement about people, and I keep to my words, you are a good soul. Have a great day.

Dear Sherinek,
What a nice way to write a quality reply. I would say that I should learn from you (and others also) that how to post a quality reply. Simply outstanding and simply superb response! Each sentence of your reply is really really worth reading and magnificient. I thank you from deepest of my heart that you always rate me positive...and I hope that friends like you always make me happy and boost my confidence and moral.
I fully agree with you that we should have quality friends who come to our rescue in our thick and thin and vice versa.

Sherinek, woh! what a positive remarks you have written....making me feel humble and honoured. I accept your complements with great delight and humbleness and again you have worded your reply very beautifully and nicely. It touched me deeply.
You say - "Many a people will not appreciate what another will do to them and here you are appreciating even the tiniest"
I do not know about others rather cannot comment on them...but I am such a person that if I like a person or her deeds ...I will not hesitate to put it in words and express my positive feelings.
I am thrilled to read that - "I am a good soul". Nothing can be more flattering than this for me.
Thanks very much for every commetns of yours.
Have a great day.

iii) as a friend you are again at 100/100 and more, if i can give atall. i would rate you more as a friend than as a mylotter.

I had to cut short my comments, due to some reasons. Before I could complete it.... you have posted counter-comments....wonderful! To continue with my remarks.....your response is overwhelming...more than my highest expectation. Mimpi, I believe the sincere compliments given by you to me....give me so much satisfaction and contentment and happiness....regarding my performance...and there is nothing greater than these kind of moral boosting and awesome comments. I think the happiness achieved through positive deeds and comments cannot be compared with any other thing. I also believe slow and steady wins the race. I hope my efforts will continue to do better and better.

Well, you & I must have started around the same time, as I have been doing My Lot for about 3 months I think.
You have expressed yourself well here, your journey with My Lot.
I admit to being confused at first, and did briefly stop My Lot. However, I found after asking for help with a couple of issues, I became impressed with many of the peoiple on My Lot.
Now I am almost addicted.
I am afriad that I can not comment on your discussions or responses, as I think you & I only recently bcame friends.
Hopoe to hear a lot from you in the future.

Hi Deepak
I just wanted to tell you that I'm so glad you are here on MyLot, you make it a better place to spend our days. You are such a pleasure to have as a friend and you are always so thoughtful of others. You take the time to give honest answers to your friends discussions and you always drop little messages to your friends telling them how much they mean to you. You are the essense of what a real friend should be like and I'm positive your real life friends are very lucky to have you in their lives.
I'm always so busy and never seem to find the time to personally reply to your messages all the time and yet you are still my faithful friend and you do not allow it to be a problem in our friendship. You are very understanding and kind - I wish more people were like you.
To answer your questions:
1. I rate your discussions a 10. You write from the heart and that matters so much on this type of forum. Some people do not and they are missing out on what this site has to offer as far as friendships and bonding. I always rate you a (+) and I'm so happy to see you have your blue 10 star now! Congratulations!!
2. I love reading your replies because I know you are speaking the truth. Even if you do not agree with something a person has written, you try to word it so as not to offend. You are very respectful in the way you respond to others and that is a wonderful way to relate to people because it keeps the doors open for communication and understanding.
3. I rate you at the top of the list when it comes to my MyLot friends. If they had a star that just said "Sorry we ran out of numbers for this user" - that would be you! ♥
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being such a great MyLot friend!

Diana, I was expecting a positive response from you and I knew it that you remain busy....but you the one of the most treasured and precious possesion (as far as friends are concerned) to me..so I was curious to read your reply. And woh! woh!........it is beyond, beyond, beyond........my expectations. Your each and every word has made me proud and I feel it is not me...it is your positive outlook and honesty whih reflects in your reply when you write appreiciating description about me. Truely this time also.... I am at loss of words and I cannot find a way out how I must THANK YOU for the unexpected positive and flattering complements you have given to me. As already stated...in my earlier comments...your each and every word carry a value of GOLD to me. And your analysis about my discussions, comments, responses....inter-personal relationship is simply superb and simply outstanding (even I myself cannot give so many positives and adjectives to me). I feel relieved to know that I could carve out a space for me in the space reserved for your dear friends...(I feel it is an achivement for me). Because carving out space for oneself...which you are sitting miles apart....only channel is your written words...in your replies and discussions etc....is something I feel proud of. Diana, you are right when you say that I frame my words in such a manner so as not offend any member/my dear friends here on mylot. I treat them as I wish to be treted.
Oh! no....Do not make me go mad with happiness and blush when you say .... I deserve more than '10'....I still feel there are others as intelligent, nice, caring and understanding members like you who deserve atleast rating of '20' out of '10'.
You made my day...by writing in such a wonderful manner.... and I will never ever forget you in my life...whether I remain active on mylot or not. YOu have made a special place in my heart and I regard you very highly and I thank GOD and feel extremely happy and delighted to someone as sweet as you, as my friend. And you always rating me (+) have surely helped me to touch the rating of '10'. I hope that your unflinching support, guidance, love and affection will continue towards me......!
Thanks is a too small a word to express my gratitudes towards you. Anyway thanks a lot for marvellous and simply OUTSTANDING ++++++++++......REPLY.

You are doing just fine, we shared the same experience here. When I start join mylot, it was pretty difficult in the beginning but I keep on posting and responding and many nice people on mylot who accepted me with open hands which I really appreciated !!! Including you my friend.
I always rate both my dicussion and others including yours. When mylot-er friends responded to my discussion, I always rate them and when I respond their discussion and they reply to my respond, I also rate them. Even sometimes took me a while to give reply to mylot-er friends that respond to my discussion....I'll keep on trying...
So, keep on posting and keep up your good work !!!

Congratulations for completing the 500th mile. Not too bad, you have 98 friends and have posted 60 discussions and responded to 502 discussions, and I see you have a rating of 10 :)
I see that you had a hard time starting out. I guess it is the same for anyone here in myLot. I certainly hope the obstacles are not stopping you from actively participating in myLot. I believe what you have gone through are valuable experiences gained.
Regarding your responses and discussions. On average, there are about 10 responses per discussion and I observed that recently there are more responses to
your discussions, with the number of responses reaching as high as 35 at this time of my responding. And certainly worth mentioning is that I do not see any
discusison with zero responses. That itself is worth giving yourself a pat on the back. Don't you think you have done well?
Not sure if you have analysed the relationship between the discussions and responses, those with high and low responses. Perhaps it is worth observing how
people with ratings of 10 do their responses and post their discussions. Make maintaining the rating of 10 as your goal and I am sure you can go further.
Just to share what I have been through in myLot. When I first started out, I was like you, absolutely no idea what to do. It is indeed lucky I had a friend's support to keep me going. I spent my time browsing through discussions, responding to those I can respond. I focused on responding to discussions rathder than posting discussions. To date, I am still focusing on responding to discussions. That makes me improve further and build up my confidence. It is more motivating than having discussions with few responses :P
Take a look at this http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/944838.aspx if you may.
Keep it up!

Dear you are a wonderful observer and analyst. I myself never checked how many discussions.. I started or how many friends do I have. I do see number of responses received and you are right when you say that number of response received also tells me about level of acceptance among others. Thanks for conveying your wishes. I agree with you... that focussing on answering others' discussions gives you more experience and insight. But I feel....that in between starting a discussion.. is also important... it gives you a platform to interact with others. All in all very inspiring and encouraging response from you... you took your time to post your wonderful reply and friends like you are an asset to me.
Keep posting replies and do not forget to give postive comments in between.
I conclued that you are very nice, kind and wonderful person and those around you... i.e. your real friends, near and dear ones must feel very lucky to have someone like you in their life.
Thanks again.
