NBC soap opera Passions, which will end its run on that network on Sept. 7, will be picked up on Sept. 17 on DirecTV, under a new agreement between NBC Universal Television Studio and the satellite television provider.
It will continue to be on at 2:00pm and most of the cast will be returning. DirecTV, in conjunction with bringing Passions on board, will offer free installation, a DVR or HD receiver upgrade and a portable DVD player.
Will you be watching? I don't have DirecTV, but plan to look into it.

I won't be watching it either. It is so silly that they are adding another hour to the Todays Show. It is crazy. Maybe someone else will join the direct tv and show it.

That would be nice. I'd be happy if it was still on the air when I'm next on mat leave again!

We do not have DirecTV so I guess I will not get to watch it anymore. I can't afford to put in DirecTV. This is so sad because I really like this show.

Thanks for the reply. After reading the post above you, I won't be seeing Passions either. Its a shame that a different network didn't pick up the show.

I live in Canada and don't have access to DirectTV so I guess that means I won't be watching. It doesn't really matter too much as I'll be back at work in the next few months anyways. As long as it's still on while I'm home I'll be happy!

This is really sad for me cause i am a true blue passions fan but i wouldnt get Direct tv for any reason ever again. I had it out where we had live in the country and when they installed it thay put it on our roof and after the the roof leaked they had installed it inproperly and we got stuck with the bill. Due to stupid disclaimers. If you do get it dont let them touch your roof. They should of never put it there in the first place.

Thank you for the reply. I don't think its a good idea for me to get it installed with all the problems people have told me they had with it. I appreciate people telling me, so I can avoid major problems.

I won't be changing to Direct TV. I'm on a passions list and someone on there said that maybe someone can put the shows on the internet somewhere - you know, upload them on youtube. That would be cool. Or maybe they'll put it on the internet on NBC's site or something.
The dumb thing is they moan about the ratings being low but they're going to lose the people in Canada and those who refuse to switch, so what good will that do?
I hope they do something so that more people can watch it because I really enjoy this show.

Was wondering is it just the NBC Network that is canceling the show? Because I have Satellite and Passions is on like 20 different stations from 3:00 till 7:00 Some of them are the days show some are the nextdays... but its alot of different channels and it isn't like global that just cuts into nbc's broadcast either... So I am hoping that these channels still air it when NBC doesn't

I'm happy with Dish. If that means that I won't get to watch Passions. Then I'm not going to get to watch it then. I only watch it now because that is what comes on right after Days of Our Lives.

I just got direct tv yesterday so it looks like I will be watching Passions Sept.17. It says that it will be on Mon. thru Thurs. and on Fridays a marathon I guess from the same week.
I don't figure on having problems with direct TV, my daughter has had it for several years and a friend close by has it also.
I agree in the past that direct tv and even cable would go out if a dog or cat tinkled close by but things have changed and improved.

I won't be wwatching because I don't have satlite I will be getting updates online. They should have put on something that everyone could watch. Everyone doesn't have satlite so they are going to loose a lot of viewers.
