I need some inspiration, can't decide where to book for. Any ideas welcome. Don't like it too quiet and like to see nice buildings.

I had planned to visit either Memphis and Detroit for mine; (yes, I'm in the USA); Next year, i'm going on a cruise hopefully to Cozumel and have to do some scouting around town where I live because the boat will disembark from here. But for this year, I'm up in the air about it. We'll see.

Why was this discussion started under Switzerland? Do you want to go there? If you want to see the beautiful buildings of the world, then Europe has much to offer - both old and new; but I do not know many famous buildings in Switzerland. There are the old castles of which the Chateau de Chillon stands out in beauty, some old and new churches like the Church on Santorini. Surely there will be beautiful buildings there because of the famous architects there. Maybe in Zurich you will see the beautiful apartment houses and the Rapperswil castle along the bank of the Zurich Lake. In Basel you will see the Central Signal Tower, Satellite signal tower. But if you intend to travel around Europe to admire and to enjoy the beauty of the architectural marvels then you must go: to Spain for the Casa Mila in Barcelona, the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao; to the United Kingdon for Salisbury Cathedral, The Royal Crescent in Bath, Lloyds of London, Crystal Palace, Tate Modern Museum in London; to Germany for the castles like Schloss Neuschwanstein, the Olympic Park in Munich, the Jewish Museum in Berlin, the National Gallery in Berlin; to France for the Lyons Airport Railway Station, Louvre Museum, Paris Opera House, The Pompidou Center and Musee d'Orsay all in Paris; to Italy for Galeria Vittorio Emanuele, The Pantheon the Piazza Del Campidoglio in Rome. There are so many more beautiful buildings, you will know when you are there.

Are you talking about a place in the US or globally? There are some nice places in Europe with nice buildings and interesting histories, depending on what your style is...
