I have also seen elastics that have pull strings in them. You simply sew the elastic inside of the fabric and then pull the strings on the elastic for a real scrunchy look! These make really cute handbag straps and belts!

I've made these many times as well! My daughters love them. If I was really talented (like my mom) I could probably make some really creative ones. LOL!

i think a good way to make a scrunchie is to start with a regular pony tail holder and just stitch losely some fabric around the pony tail holder another way to make a scrunchie is to start out with regular pony tail holder and tie a ribbon around it you can use all different types of ribbons and ribbons of all different colors and you can make the ribbons of all different lengths i have alot of ribbon scrunchies
