Commute or drive to work?

I work as a regular employee and I commute to work everyday. On some days, I get to be dropped off at the office and most nights I get to hitch with other people going home.
Can you share some experiences you have had traveling to work? Do you prefer commuting or driving? Why do you chose to commute or drive (convenience, location of office, transportation cost)?

As of now, I commute so I could go to work. But given a chance to have my own car and have a higher salary, I would really like to drive maybe because I like to go to different places or I like to travel. And with driving you have the power to control where you want to be even after office hours.

for me id rather commute everyday because its economical if i commute it will only cost me less compare if i buy gas for my car and no hussle to find for parking space and i can sleep well in the FX, but maybe if my salary gets high that i can afford a driver on my own why not...so it depends...
