Credit cards are virtually indispensable items of financial equipment. They give you freedom to buy things you can't afford to buy in one lump sum. They make travelling and paying in foreign countries easy. You can use them to get cash in emergencies. Not to mention that it's safer to use a card than carry large amounts of cash. But even the most financially sophisticated among us sometimes can't resist going on a binge with our plastic, and like any binge, this bring unwanted consequences. So how do you manage your credit card bills, perhaps even your credit card debt.

I dont have a credit card and thats the way i like it. I will never get one as i know i will only end up in some sort of debt from buying things i cannot afford. I prefer to purchase things up front when i have the money. If i dont have the money, i just have to wait until i save enough to buy the things i want.

Its true that a credit card is a blessing but eventually it turns out to be the devils advocate!! I mean when you see something e.g a piece of jewellery or electronic or anything for that matter. And if you cant afford it, there is this small nudge on the side that keeps stating go for it go for it!! This eventually leads you to buy something you cant afford. I personally think a debit card is better coz it allows you to spend money you have and the best part is that you dont have to pay any interest on it.
