First i want apologize for who don't agree my post.I am sorry,i am not out of imagination,i really have a silly problem. Second should my boyfriend feel embarassed going into the store only to buy pads for my period? He don't have any problem with this usual and when i forget to buy myself and he is not home yet i call him and i ask to buy for me...and never was a problem...but today i my mom visit me and i called my boyfriend to buy some pads and my mom was very upset because i put him in a "embarassed" situation because this..and we argue little(just little)about this subject...i was thinking she is more moderne but...i have to admit she is not... It is a neccessity and so there is no avoiding it...is this normal or i'm just weird? Feel free to criticize me if you feel...maybe i am wrong,i will handle all your opinion... Do your husband buy for you pads? Do you guys feel embarassed about this subject? And (even i am sure will be so)i please to keep a decent discussion... Many hugs for understanding.

I can't speak for the men, but my husband buy me pads sometimes. I tend to forget that I am running low and when I realize that I'm down to my last one, he's always willing to help. Before, I'm afriad he might feel embarass so I ask him but he said he don't mind doing it. There was a time when he bought it and the cashier was a guy. They talk and made jokes out of it. He seemed to be fine with that. For your mom, I guess they are use to the "leave your hubby/boyfriend out of your woman "duties"".

My wife always forgets and I usually end up going to buy them for her. I don't get embarrassed at all. Our moms are from a different era when that type of thing was definitely left up to the woman and was a lot more private I think. I have no problem doing that and don't mind when my wife asks me to.

I don't think that it is embarrassing or the wrong thing to do. I know that my partners never had a problem buying me pads or tampons. maybe we belong to a different generation, because i know my mother will never ask my father to buy her pads, she thinks it is embarrassing for my dad. he does not. but she does. Lol.

My husband isn't embarassed to buy sanitary pads, not only for me but for my daughters, 13 & 16. He usually buys them together with other groceries, he always do the groceries for us. This is modern times, it is normal for the ladies in the house to use pads during their period. Whoever bought them is immaterial.

Hi dear, my boyfriend buys me pads and he doesnt see anything wrong in that, as for your mum, she's just feeling humane for the guy, thinking it may embarrass him, just take your time and explain to her that your and ur man are really close and it really doesnt matter, but also try and find out from your guy how he feels about it too.

Well, personally ,I don't think it's wrong, especially because he is your boyfriend. When he is your soulmate you should be able to share everything with him.Whether you choose not to share is your prerogative, but when it's imperative ,you have to turn to your closest person, whatever the nature of your necessity.

yup. good point there bluewings... "you have to turn to your closes person, whatever the nature of your necessity." - i like the sound of it. that's why you are called partners, right? because you wanna do things for each other. sad why some men don't get the whole idea of it.

Yes Mari,it's the small concerns that when addressed make the bond and trust in the relationship stronger. The meaning of a partner is one who stands by you when you need him or her, whether it be a health concern or social.

The hubby and I always go shopping together, and I usually don't forget to buy them. I think if I had run out like you did and I was in that situation that he wouldn't be embarassed. It is a part of life, embarassing or not women get their periods. Sure, it can be embarassing but onyl a purely immature man would let that embarassement get past buying something his love needs.

My husband has gotten them for me also. I don't think he was embarassed because he never complained. I'm sure when you boyfriend goes to the store to buy pads, everyone would know that they are not for him. What does your boyfriend say when you ask him to get them for you? Don't worry I think a lot of guy go to the store for there girlfriends and wifes.

Actually this also happens to me, i have a period and i called my friend to buy me pads since he is at the grocery store. Of course i asked if it is alright for him to buy me pads. He is just friend, not boyfriend, then he says it's alright, there's nothing to him, unless he will be the one who will use it..lol. So, i think it is normal. But just one advice, have plenty of stocks next time hihihi!

My husband buys me pads and he's 53. But, of course I can't imagine my mother's face if I said it like you did. But.. well.. she already knows me and also think that I'm a little bit different in our thinkings.. if you know what I mean.. I'm a little bit crazy.. is what she thinks about me.. ;)

My boyfriend always buys my pads and my best friend actually yelled at me because she said it was very disrespectful that I made him buy it for me. I think he fells very important to do those kinds of things for me and It makes our relationship rock strong because every month he is happy to buy it and then there are other months that he is hoping I don't see it. I like the fact that even when we are around his friends he even talks about it and that made me love him even more. I do not think anything about you because I do not see any problem with him purchasing something he would probably get for his daughter one day

I'm actually embarassed to go into store sometimes and buy them for myself. My husband on the other hand has no problem doing it for me if I forget. I have no clue why I get embarassed, unless it's just that I suddenly get thrown back into my teen years and feel everyone in the store is looking at me going, "ooohhh, look she's buying pads..looky at her". I know, I'm nuts..lol but I'm great entertainment for my husband with my rambling thoughts sometimes. :-)

hello again augusta! my exes before will never really buy me pads. they hate the idea of buying one for me. and i feel really bad about it. i mean, i can buy briefs for them if they ask me to without feeling embarrassed. and they feel embarrased because i asked them to buy pads for me? women will have monthly periods. and i guess, it's natural and ofcourse, better if our men will buy one for us when we need them to. it's a natural thing and i don't find big deals about it. just that they make their own "embarrassment" state. gladly, my boyfriend at present is willing to buy me pads. we talked about it. funny, huh? but he found it funny when men feels awkward to buy pads for their girls. he even asked me what brand it is that i am comfortable using. and i smiled and said... thanks.. finally, i found a man who is with sense at all. well,if you love each other, there's no need to be embarrassed about such situations. take care... happy myLotting augusta. and i hope you and your mom are already okey.

The only problem I have had is when the shop assistant asks detailed questions that I have no idea what the answer is. Normal or super absorbancy? What size? I just say whatever you recommend! It's a bit like buying a bra and they ask the cup size. I just have to say that it is a really nice handful! haha Oh, and hugs to you too.

This has been happening for ages, and you are not the first woman to ask their husband or boyfriend to do this. I did it many times when I was married. No big deal. Ask your boyfriend how he feels about it and go from there. I wouldn't worry about what others say or think. You haven't been a man until you have done this for your significant other..lol.

I don't think my husband would be embarassed buying me pads. He is pretty much a "who cares, it's my money" person when it comes to buying anything. The only thing he wouldn't buy me are lingeries and women accesories, and that's because female shoppers in that section tend to stare at him in a "what are you pervert doing here?" way. Knowing my mother and my mother in law, I'm sure they will do the same as your mom did, it comes with the generation. When it comes to fashion and jewellery, my mother in law and my husband are the right people to ask, since all I know is jeans and T shirt. They both think I don't know what to wear which is more embarassing than buying pads :)

Ok not quite a pad - But still goes with the topic at hand.
I used to buy them for my wife and daughter all the time. I was never embarrassed that stuff is just a fact of life. Mom's just from the old days and that was just how they were back then.

I don't mind doing that for my girl friend if she had no other choice than me. I may feel embarrassed if the situation is like though she could go and buy one for her and if she asks me to get them. If there are any silly reasons behind her asking to get me the pads for her then i may feel a bit odd.
