Ta-Daaaa! I got my first pension cheque today!!!!!!!!!!

While I'm happy to be getting it, it's a little bittersweet. On the one hand, it's nice to have the extra money, but, on the other hand, I'm not crazy about being of the age to receive it,lol.
Oh, well, it will be nice to have that little extra spending money, so I will enjoy!

I'm so happy for you. The extra cash will be a help I'm sure. As far as getting older, we need to remember that the senior years are a privilege that not all of us will receive.

I am on accidental disability retirement and have been for almost 5 years now after working for over 30 years for a city in "Taxachussetts". I am a 60 year young man who would like to be able to do things again but because I was hurt on the job they say that even if I could find a job that I could do they would take a dollar away from me for every dollar I earned over a small amount and I would be taxed on it so that I would actually be earning less than if I just do not work. Because I got hurt on the job I am not allowed to advance in earnings. And since I have a municipal pension I do not get any Social Security.
