How do you select a Best Response in your discussion? Do you wait for a certain time to select someone with the best response? Do you select someone with the best answer or the closest to your discussion? Or maybe just maybe is it because he or she selected you as with best response and now you would like to give her or him the same?
Anyway please share your reasons, thanks!!

I choose a "Best Response" because I honestly feel they answered the discussion with the best answer, not because they are my friends or because they gave me a "best response" in the past. I wait about a week to give best response because if you give it right away there is less incentive to answer the discussion or the answer might not be as good as it would be if the "best response" is still available. Sometime people don't notice the discussion in the first few hours and they might have a lot of knowledge about the discussion. Why not wait for some really good responses?

I'm new to mylot, so I'm still trying to figure out how to choose a best response in a way that makes sense. Right now, I chose an answer that is well written (clear and concise, with minimal spelling mistkes--my pet peeve) and all-encompasing. I frequently get answers that don't even address the question. I'm not sure if the other user doesn't understand my question or just didn't read it.
Since I'm new to mylot (second time I mentioned it in this post), I don't have to "return favors" by selecting someonelse for a best response. I hope that in the future I remain fair and impartial. However, it is human nature to be partial to someone who has helped you out along the way.

I like to wait for about 7 days or at least 10 responses which ever comes first. I try to give the best response to the person that has taken a lot of thought as to what they had to say. Though sometimes it a hard decision I try to be very fair.

I wait a while before I start selecting a best response. I give a person the best response when they give the best answer. Long posts are good candidates. Usually they have to impress me with their replies to get a best response. The post have to be logical.
