How does one earn an income without having to pay for it?

I don't have a credit card so a lot of these sites that have those paid offers and some even free offers require a card. I don't have money to pay for something that I don't even know would work. So tell me for a woman such as myself, staying at home while her husband goes to work only 19 hours a week. How would I be able to come across a place where I could make money and maybe even start now? If you know, please tell me.
