Does anyone have a good coffee cake recipe? My father loves coffee cake and I've been trying to go through old cookbooks trying to find one without much luck. I'm looking for one with cinnamon swirls throughout the cake's interior and a crunchy topping. I have a recipe for coffee cake that doesn't have those two things if anyone would like it; it's from my boyfriend's mother and many people always rave about it when I make it. Here it is:
Coffee Cake
1 box Betty Crocker yellow cake mix
2 eggs
1 cup water
1/2 cup wesson oil
1/4 tsp. freshly grated nutmeg
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Mix all ingredients together and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes in a greased 9x13 pan.
Topping:
2 Tbsp granulated sugar
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Rub 1/2 a stick of melted butter on hot cake. Sprinkle with topping.

Cinnamon Swirl Coffee Cake
1 cup margarine
2 cups granulated sugar
4 eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup milk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 tablespoons cinnamon mixed with 2 tablespoons
granulated sugar (save this for last step)
Cream the margarine with the sugar. Add the eggs, one at a time. Mixall the dry ingredients and add to the batter alternately with the milk. Add the vanilla extract. Pour half into an angel food pan, add the cinnamon/sugar mixture on top, then add the rest of the batter. Using a table knife swirl it around and through the batter. Bake in a 375 degree F oven for 60 minutes.
