You know the saying about pets looking like their owners? Well how about this? Does your closet look vaguely similar to your life? If your closet has accumulated excess baggage, then it is probable that your life has too! Most of what we hang onto is good, but too much clutter in our closets as well as our lives makes up want to just close the doors and hide.
Are you ready to lose the baggage? Closet cleaning is not only great for obvious reasons, but is great mental therapy as well. There is great freedom in letting go of the clothes and other possessions that represent your past. You are giving yourself permission to live in the present and dream about a brighter tomorrow.

wow, actually, that is a good metaphor, and I like what you were saying here. To let go something of the past, to focus on the present is more important than anything else. Giving your memory some space, and some freedom to do what you do in the present. I should tell my girlfriend something about this.

Humm?? Interesting to think about. My closet is a mess. I started cleaning it and got tired so I just put everything back. Now it is even a worse mess. I like a clean closet though

I cleaned my closet last year.I made way to new clothes I purchased for 2010.also,I gave these clothes to my sister, friends, and cousin.aside from cleaning my own space,I get to give clothes to people who appreciate them.now I can buy more clothes for 2010 and have a storage space for them.

This is a really neat idea...My mom always shouts at me because of my closet and I agree it does reflect one's personality. This discussion was made three years ago I hope people can respond to this again because this is a really nice discussion
Come and put your two cents in
