This isn't a poll before anyone jumps the gin and thinks it is.
I was just wondering what time you think it is reasonable to go to bed at when you have nothing pressing to do the next morning.
It is 02.20 here in the UK and I seem to always thing that 03.00 is the latest someone can go to bed if they are just sitting in front of the computer and listening to tunes.
Obviously i could sit here til whenever I please but it just seems so wrong. It's almost as if at 03.00 it becomes early morning as opposed til late night.

I don't really have a set time, as I am unemployed at the moment it does vary drastically. I am having a hard time sleeping in lately though, it doesn't seem to matter what time I go to sleep, I'm always up really really early...sometimes it means I've only slept 3 or 4 hours.

I could never handle that. I like between 8 and 12 hours.
By the way, welcome to myLot.

For me it depends on what I have to do the next day and what time I need to get up. If I'm getting up at 7 am then I'm in bed by 11:15 pm. If I'm getting up at say 9:30 or 10 I can go to bed at 1 or 2 and be fine. If I don't have anything to do or anywhere to be I can stay up as late as I please which is usually no later than 2:30ish.

If I hadnt got early that day and didnt have to get up early the next day I would maybe sit up til about 1.30 or so just cos I would be getting tired by that point. If I was drinking it would be a bit later. I think yo uare right tho, I reckon about 3 is the very latest, after that it starts feeling too much like it's the next morning too much.

I need to get my email thing sorted out because it is all going to an old email address so I am not really using the notifications to their full potential.

You are the only person where it actually looks like you have read my discussion. I am never ever again putting the question as the heading. Thank you very much for your response.

Wow...there are a lot of night owls in th is discussion. I have to work during the week so on those nights I usually go to bed around 10 or 11pm. I actually try to get 8 hours of sleep...but I have insomnia often so sometime I might go to sleep at 11pm, but then wake up at 2am and be awake for a few hours (I have the kind of insomnia where I can fall asleep at first, but not stay asleep). If I am awake in the middle of the night I read, or watch TV. I try not to go on the internet becuase then I might get sucked into something that keeps me awake even longer (like mylot).
On weekend nights, depending what I'm doing I'm sometimes up till around midnight or so. I think I'm more of a morning person though.

Before having my daughter I used to go to bed between 2 and 6 in the morning. I was a night owl definitely. Now that I have my daughter and I know I have to get up with her in the morning I try to go to bed between 10 and 12 midnight. It is really hard as I stayed up late for years. My daughter will be one this June. Hopefully by the time she's 2 I'll be in schedule of going to bed early lol.

I'm like you - 3am is a cut off point for me too. If it goes past that time then it's officially the next day! I'm a real night owl anyway so whether I'm working the next day or not I'm usually up late. Midnight is about the earliest time I'll go to bed but normally it's nearer 1am if I have to get up for work. If I don't have anything to get up for then nearer 3am is the usual for me. I hardly ever get up and go to bed on the same day!

Cool thats a good way to look at it. You should get up on one day and go to sleep the followign day. Obviously the early hours.

Oh my! Well I get up at 5.00am for work, so 3.00am is pretty much the early morning for me! The idea of going to bed at 2.00am or 3.00am is just horrifying for me! I am always in bed by 10.00pm during the week, and about 11.30pm at weekends. And I don't thin it is just becase I'm getting old - LOL! Evidently, according to my Dad, even as a child I would willingly go to bed without a fuss (sometimes even getting myself ready for bed before my parents told me to!), because my body needed a lot of sleep. I am definately a morning person! I do my best work and concentration between about 8.00am and 11.00am, and I am hopeless after mid-afternoon! And I am really crabby and bad tempered on less than 7 or 8 hours sleep, and likely to get tearful and depressed if I go more than one night without enough sleep. Funny how people are different isn't it?

"likely to get tearful and depressed if I go more than one night without enough sleep."
How many nights do you think people go without sleep. Sometimes I don't go to bed til 7am or whatever but I would never miss a full nights sleep.
And well done for actually reading the full discussion. Evidently most of the people just read the title and responded to that.

I wake up every morning about 5:00AM & I get ready for work. About a month ago, I used to turn in around 9:30PM or 10:00PM, but that was before MyLot:-) .... Now 34Momma & I are up until around 12:30AM or 1:00AM. LOL

I like to go to bed between 10:30 and 11pm. I've been known to stay up later than that if I'm watching a good movie or get caught up in a good book. If I go to bed too early, then I end up waking up too early and don't know what to do with myself in the morning.

Its about 10pm here in the us in georgia, and I try to be in bed by about 11. Its just nice to get to bed before midnight, I like to get to sleep before that time.

Having two kids negates the possibility of sleeping in and really cuts down on the chance of napping. They have no concept of, "be quiet, I need a kip".
If I stay up past 11 and then for some reason don't sleep well. I will be really hurting the next day. If I am up as late as midnight I will really be kicking myself. Pretty pathetic, but I need my rest!

I usually go to bed at around 10pm but when I am watching a nice movie in HBO I sleep at 1pm. I usually wake up at 6 or 7 in the morning.

i usually sleeps at past midnight but i know it is not right and it is not healthful. i think, one should fall at sleep at 10 in the evening and then probably wakes up at 6 in the morning so that you'll have the 8 hours required sleep everyday. takecare

I have always been a night owl. When I was working I would be in bed by at least midnight, and get up at 6:30 am to get ready for work at 8:00am. Now, I am trying out being a stay at home mom, and it is usually between 2:00 and 3:00 am before I go to bed. I still get up at 7:00am to get my son up for school and all, but I also sometimes take a nap during the day.
