How do I advertise links on my myLot page?

hello,
Ive seen that some people are able to advertise their links to their websites or paid sites in order to attract more referrals. I am just wondering what i have to do to be able to do this - am I supposed to post just a blog? or is there something else i can do to edit my display page?

I put links on my profile page at other sites, wrote a couple of articles about myLot and making money and put my links in the articles.
I know there are other ways too; but, so far that is all I have done and I have 4 referrals now.
