i'm so bad at not recognizing people

it only happens to me with people's names. i can remember faces and where we met and everything. but i'll be darned if i can remember their names.it's frustrating and embarrassong all at once. especially if they remember your name.

yup, it happen to me too. Sometimes it is because my mind is thinking of something important, my mind can't recoznize the familiar face right away. And also they change their haircut or lose or gain weight. I apologize to them if it happens.

you arenot alone Iam with you I even forget their names and keep fumbling and mumbling till they finally tell me who mthey are.It is very awkward and some times people make fool of us. It happened to me two years back .I had been to a marriage in my nephews place where several of their relatives had come.I wanted to ask about one of his aunts Husband but I could not recollect his name. I knew that he was an employee of Lever brothers. We were in a group and my nephew being very mischevious understood my plight and deliberately went on prompting till i had to say that gentleman of lever brothers. every one laughed because his wife was sitting right behind me.

You're not the only one. I'm very bad with names. I always have to make notes about their physical appearance, like balding hair, big nose etc... Another way to think of it is you made such a impact on them that they know who you are. So, it's ok.

same here.. i always can't recognize my old friends... i think my memory is bad ....everytime i meet them.. i will stare at them for sometime..then they will look at me and say..you don't know me? then i will say i can't remember you.. but i think i do know you.. haha.. they say "gosh charles, you can't remember your old schoolmate?" .. then i will suddenly remember them.. haha.. it's really funny.. but i think this is life.. isn't that true? we get to meet millions of people throughout our life.. but can we actually remember all =) .. good topic discussion.. rate +

This has happened to me many times. It is embarassing. I used to just pretend i knew them and go along with lol. But now i will just say i am so sorry but i really can't place you at the moment, and then when they tell me and I realize who they are I am usually like oh sorry i really think I am getting early signs of old age..lol

it happen to me but differently, i find it hard to recall the name of the person so when they come to me and speak to me they didnt know that i dont recall their names! but i try not to let them know that i forgot their name lol, its just embarassing coz when somebody ask me who was that person i cannot tell her/his name, i will just say his/her my friend. that's really a problem with me, my memory is bad when recalling a person's name.

I also find it really hard to recognize the REAL characters in persons whom I meet. Judgment about personalities often goes wrong people are not always as they seem to be.
