Do you think walking is the best and if so how far do you think we should walk? Or maybe you have a better source of exercise if so what is it?

I like walking.
If u walk regularly u tend to:
1.feel more confident,happy and relaxed;
2.control ur weight better;
3.have healthier blood cholesterol level;
4.have lower blood pressure;
5.have stronger bones(less osteoporosis);
6.be less likely to have a heart attack;
7.recover better from a heart attack;
8.be less likely to have a stroke;
9.be less likely to develop diabetes in middle age.

Definitely, walking is still the best excercise that most of us can easily do. It helps us burn more fats, our cardio, and it helps our blood to keep flowing. awe should also support this with proper eating of foods, to replenish our body's energy.

I agree that walking is the best exercise. But you have to walk regularly, like every day or every other day but you have to keep at it. I really think that jogging isnt good because its hard on your lower joints like ankles and knees. all the jolts from your feet landing on the hard ground can be good. Another way to get exercise would be bike rideing. Take care!!

Walking is the best form of exercise. At least to me it is.

i think the best and easiest exercise is laughing, u can do it even seeing ur favourite show on tv, it really does help, walking is also a very good exercise but i think cycling is better than walking, one of the best ways to keep yourselves fit is by skipping, even five minutes a day of skipping is very good, try it out annd im sure u will feel the effect very quickly

I think mixing up your exercise is best. Using only one form will only work one set of muscles. Granted, walking is a great place to start for folks that haven't exercised in a long time, or folks with serious weight issues or other health constraints. But for me, I like to mix walking, running, swimming, biking, weight training and any outside activity, like hiking, rock climbing, team sports, etc. A good variety helps condition all your muscles and keep you from getting BORED with your exercise routine.

I was wondering if any of you think walking in place is good also. When the weather is rainy and stormy I get so tired of walking from room to room in my house that sometimes I just walk in place and watch TV to pass some of the time.
What do you think?

I would say that movement in any form is better than sitting doing nothing at all. That's great that you've come up with a creative solution to get exercise on rainy days and even if it isn't quite as good as actual walking, walking in place while watching tv is a good use of tv time.
