We are going to continue our examination of verses from the Bible to find out if they contain contradictions.
The first verse that we are going to study could be found in the book of John, chapter 3, verse 13. This is what it says—
“And no man hath ascended up to heaven but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.”
In this particular verse, our Lord Jesus Christ was saying that no man has ascended up to heaven. But in the book of II Kings 2:11, this is what we could read—
“And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder, and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.”
In this particular verse, it says that, the prophet Elijah has gone up to heaven by a whirlwind.
In John 3:13, our Lord Jesus Christ said, no man has ascended up to heaven, while in II Kings 2:11, it says that the prophet Elijah has gone up to heaven.
Do these verses contain contradictions? Do they oppose each other? What could be the correct answer? Let us ask our teachers … our pastors and ministers … the evangelists and the apostles. Let us ask them of the correct answers.
