I startes with my son when he was a little over two. Honestly I just let him decide when he was ready. When he started coming into the bathroom and asking questions and saying he wanted to go tee tee in the big boy potty then I started taking him with me every time I went and asking him several times througout the day if he nedded to go tee tee or not. It was an on again off again struggle for about a year or so, but he is now three and is out of diapers and wearing underwear and tells me or his mom or whoever when he needs to go potty. Just have to be sure he goes right before bed and he doesnt have anything to drink before bed b/c if so he will wet in his sleep. Hope this helps you a little.

wicked clown,
the best series in my experience has been a token reward system. let him know that when he goes that he gets one skittle or m&m. it really works and celebrate when he complies with this. this may seem communist but it really does work with toddlers.

Santos, brother
token reward system. buy a bag or two of m&m"s. when he goes let him know he'll get a reward. it works like a charm. trust me! I know it's communist to reward like that but during the potty training years it works.

My son is 32 months and i have been putting him on the potty since 18 months. We started with a potty chair, put it in the living room, let him sit on it, play with it. He didnt take a huge interest in it til he was over 2 years. He'd pee on it here and there, nothing major. I never pushed him, because I dont want him to be afraid of the potty. Just last week, its like a light switch went off in his head! Every time I put him on the potty, he pees. My goal is to have him daytime pee trained by his birthday in August.
The point being, let your child tell you when its time. Boys are notorious for taking longer to train. Get him a potty chair and let him explore it. Good luck!
