I observed that media nowadays are getting the "entertainment" type of reporting patterned not after journalistic execellence but on cheap gossips and speculations. why is this happening. The main reason is survival of the fittest. Under a very competititive environment and a shrinking audience interest, media organizations sometimes have no choice but to waterdown their hardcore type of bringing news to the people. And this trend is unstoppable. For as long as the market dictates this way, then these media organizations got to respond to this development. Hyping news is a common style in this modern 4-media we are in.
