Best place to download sims 2 custom content?

I'm a sims 2 addict, and I've got all the expansion packs! But lately, I find that I'm already getting bored with the same stuff over and over again, so I was wondering where's the best place to download some custom content for the sims 2? Good stuff that won't make my game crash or won't interfere with my game play that much.

I like the custom content found at DecorGal (http://decorgal.com/). She has some cute stuff and has some sims 2 videos that are neat.

I agree with the others that modthesims2 is a great site. But I would stay away from the game modifications if you are worried about your game crashing. I've gotten most of the foods and they haven't caused a problem with my games but the global mods are probably the ones to stay away from. I also use the simsresource but I find that its easier to download them from the mod site.

Hmmm... I've been downloading a lot of the game modifications and my game hasn't crashed yet. I'll let you know if it does. :)

I personally like modthesims2.com a lot, I've gotten some great custom content from there. I think you have to be a member in order to download the content, but it's easy to sign up and it's free.

I like modthesims2.com also, but lately I have been using thesimsresource.com because I like their search feature better. The only problem is not all of the content on the site is free.

That won't make the game crash? Even the objects uploaded at TheSims2.com have made the game crash, but that site lets just anyone upload the same darn thing over and over. Modthesims2.com is all about fiddling around with the Sims 2 program, and anything you get from there is bound to feel unprofessional and glitchy. I think TheSims2.com has some program that can help manage custom content though.
I can heartilly recommend www.genensims2.com which has some really fascinating and well-textured additions, although the hair won't always show up correctly in the icons in Make-A-Sim. And what irritates me is randomly-created sims never sport custom content.
There's also an adult site off of mosthesims2.com, but I don't go there, and my suspicions would guess that content there is even glitchier and less professional or aesthetically pleasing than modthesims2.com's stuff.

Hi, excuse me for my english because I´m brazilian. Anyway, I love to download things for the game, the best place in my opion are:
www.modthesims2.com - is free but you need register
www.thesimsresource.com - there is an area paid and an area free, but nedd register
www.peggysims2.net - the same as the sims resource, this site is wonderfull
