interesting topic. :) i think animals do have soul. :P When a puppy is born, the mother is being protective. Not only dogs but other animals too when there's a newborn. If you watch animal planet.. :) it teach us about animal natures. They do have soul but it's different because they have different life dimension compared to us.

maybe since it says in the bible that there will be lions and that in heaven i assume they have souls to be able to be there.
