Is there any hope for this country?

I am from the Philippines and if you've read, seen or heard anything about my country you probably know that we're one of the super polluted ones. Just this morning I saw a pile of garbage on one side of one of the side streets in our province and it's unbelievable how it occupies literally half of the road. It's so depressing! I mean, I don't mean to be self-righteous about this. I'm not even an active environmentalist. But seeing pollution written all over my little world really gets me down. How will my daughter enjoy her life when she is surrounded by filth.
In my household we give specific instructions to our housemaids and emphasize on how every member of the family wants a clean house and how our late mother would always freak out whenever the house is not in the condition that she wants it to be. We tell them to bring out the garbage and put it in a big rubber waste container that the home owners agreed to buy for all the houses in our subdivision which the garbage collectors get on a fixed schedule. That way too passers by would not litter around as they will there's always a garbage container around.
How about you, what's your share in saving our dear mother earth?

Polluting the nature makes me really angry, for example when people take the car to places they could really use public transport or ride a bicycle to. It annoys me that so many people ride their car to work 3 km away and go to the gym when they get home instead of riding their bikes. It annoys me when people waste electricity like there is no tomorrow, and don't recycle garbage like you mentioned.

Yes, it sad to see our earth is populated. Not just your country, mine is also populated. What we can do now, is preparing ourself. We can plant trees, pick up garbage and throw it to a place where it should be. Not use some undisollved material such as plastic and etc. We can try avoid using vehicle so many times such as motorcycle, mobile. They can give a large amout of pollution too.
