Allergies are such a drag - what do you use to treat yours?

Allergies have been a part of my life as long as I can remember. Not just hayfever, but full blown misery. I was tested for allergies and tested positive for 34 out of 35 things they tested for. I'm currently fighting a sinus infection caused from my allergies. It really bites. I take Claritin, and it really helps. How do you treat your allergies? Prescripions, over-the-counter medications or do you just suffer with them? Hugs.

I'm allergic to a lot of things. I don't treat my allergies because benedryl is the only stuff that helps and it makes me to sleepy to function at all. I also get frequent sinus infections due to my allergies. I refuse to take antibiotics for them anymore because too many antibiotics can screw up your immune system. If I get a bad sinus infection, I take wild oregano oil, it's a natural antibiotic and it clears everything up in a few days.

i feel your pain!! i know it is hard. i had the worst sinus infection in feb and it took two rounds of antibiotics, a total of 24 days, to get rid of it. one suggestion, wont help immediately though, go natural with everything you possibly can. chemicals do increase your allergy symptoms. switch to a more natural life in any way you can. it may help you out in the long run. if claritin isnt helping as much as you would like, ask the dr to let you try some other things. play around with meds for a while. you may find something that helps more. also...turn to alernative medicine a little. it does help. acupuncture is a great one!! herbal supplements are helpful too. i hope you feel better and find a more permanent solution to your allergy misery!!
