Can a boy and a gal become true friends ?

It is said that a gal and a boy cannot be true friends because emotions/feelings comes in between, which normally said will come in once you are in love with each other.
So please put your view .. whether a boy and a gal can be true friends as a boy-boy or gal-gal can ?

ya it 100% true! Atleat I think so that there is no matter of gender.

yeah there is no question about the same ..by the way ...thats what happens when a gal and boy meet first ..if they dont have any other intentions ...haha..but the thing is that it totally depends upon individuals ....how to take things ...if u are comfortable more in maintaining friendship ..then i guess u will propbably go for that ....rather than destroying the same ...

I bet u have seen HUM TUM(Indian Movie) too many times. It doesnot happen in real life a man cannot love every women and a women cannot love every man.
