would it bother you if your family did not agree with the one you love and would you pick your family or the man/women you fell in love with?

while ultimately it would be my decision, it would mean a lot to me if my family had input in regards to an announced marriage plan....whether it be in the positive or negative. A marriage is a life long commitment and if my wiser more experienced parents had some advice I should listen to it be thankful for it and consider it long and hard before making such a commitment.

It really bothers if my family does not like the person i want. In order for all of us to be happy and that my family would accept the person i like we should make an effort to do something nice and impressive so that my parents would like the guy i want and i myself would let them understand that the guy i want was a good and loving guy. When i marry someone i want that our relationship would go smoothly, that he will be accepted of all the people i am with and be close with them. Because for me family comes first.

My family didn't agree with my g/f but I decided to be with her anyways. They need to respect your choices in partners, since you know what you like. My sister had made mention of my family "trying to break me and my g/f up" and I flipped out about it.
It's your life, be with whoever makes you happy.
