...by customer reps on the phone? what did you?
I had a bad experience with my ISP customer service. One time I received a bill that says I don't owe anything. So I called they told me it's accurate, the next time I got my bill I got double billed. Last week someone called us from our provider offering us a 1 month free service in exchange of contract extention. We didn't say yes. Now I received a bill and they didn't charge me for a full month of service. So I called, I asked why? The lady on the phone said I overpaid. At this point I just laughed coz I know she doesn't know what she's talking about. I asked if the contract was renewed, she put me on hold, while on hold she drop my call! Ok, I wasn't mad yet, so I called again, same question, this time I asked for the persons name,(like it will help). I asked first where the credit is from. She said there must have been a promo! Ok she doesn't know what she's talking about either. So I asked her if my contract was renewed, she said hold on, dead air, 30 seconds later she hanged up! I called again, this time a little aggrevated but calm still, I asked her straight if she can tell if my contract was renewed. She refered me to another no.! Grrrr. So, I called the no., got an answer, the guy said no renewal, asked if can tell me were the credit was from, says he can't answer and I have to call the no. I called first! At this point, noooo freakin way. Forget it, I'm not gonna call, I really don't mind if they renew the contract but I'm just dissapointed. Have you had bad experience like this? What actions did you take?

yes! I have had this kind of thing happen to me all the time. Except I got so much madder than you did. I get so sick and tired of going through crap like this! The way I finally handle situations like this is give it to my husband. Usually,he asks to speak to the top person and if told he can't he will get angry and threaten them with a lawyer, (lol)when the top person gets on he tells them that he will not pay another dime until they straighten it out. they may make all kinds of excuses but he always stands firm and gets ugly with them. For example..just recently we called our satalite server because for the third time in 3 years our dvr started messing up. Well after going through several people who told him that there was nothing they could do about it, he got angry and said he wanted to speak to the top person. She got on ther and told him that our bill was due and he neede to pay it first. He told her that we always pay our bills on time but she would not get another penny until a new dvr was sent and he knew it worked. She said she couldn[t until we paid the bill (this was not the first call he had made, the first was over a week before when he was told uit was a software problem and it would be fixed in couple of days. It wasn't and we had been having trouble with it for a month anyway) So he told her we would go to another satilite company and do our buisness. She then responded that the dvr would be sent and we would get it in about two days and that he could pay when he was sure it worked. He has dealt with alot of situatioons by pretending to know more than he does and not backing down. lol So far it has worked. They try to make you think there is nothing they can do or that you are wrong but you have to show them you have the upper hand or least make them believe that!

I was thinking of asking for a supervisor but I was afraid that I might get hung up on again. I just don't want to call again, listen to the automated thing, press some numbers and be and hold to get hold of someone. Imagine the trouble. My concern was very simple so I could only imagine what you went through.

It was very upsetting to me which is why I now let my husband handle any problems that come up like that! He can be so strong when it comes to holdiog out till the end! lol I fold too easy! He has the nerve to make them think he knows what he's talking about and that gets stuff done. lol

Isn't it funny that customer service has just trained us to go to the top? I used to work CS for a phone company, and heard many complaints. We were told to do our best to resolve the issue with the customer before it ever escalated to supervisors, etc. I think that is why we had such a happy clientel.
It saddens me so when people are just there for the paycheck, and not actually to help or resolve any issues. Just think how much happier you and your hubby would be if they just corrected their mistake in the first place! Not to mention the work that the supervisor might actually be getting done if not interrupted by phone calls all day long! LOL!

Oh yes, I've had that experience. Several months ago, I made a visit to the doctor. I then recieved a bill for the full amount. Well, I called the billing office, and they said that the insurance wouldn't pay for it. What??? I am covered on my husband's policy! So, I called the insurance company, and got pretty much the same run around as you did. Finding out that they won't pay for anything because I am covered with another insurance. What??? Since when??? THEN I had to wait for them to mail me a statement that I had to sign and send back to them because they couldn't take my word over the phone that I had no other coverage. Weeks came, and still no paper work. I called, same runaround, "we'll mail it to you again." FInally Dear Hubby called them because I was in a fit of tears about the situation, and told them that as well! They felt guilty, finally got my paperwork sent to me, and paid my doctor bill. The whole process took about 6 months to complete! ARGH!!!
