Is Gavin Goddard really Sam's father?

Hannah claims that Gavin Goddard is her son Sam's father, although the timeframe surrounding Sam's birth, and a few details (like the peanut allergy and having Nick's mother's eyes) lead Nick and his father to think that Nick is the father. Even Sam asked Nick if sometimes he thinks he might be his father--so who do you think is really Sam's dad?

I think Nick is the father. I thought it was odd that Hannah said "It's not what you think" (or something like that) when she, Nick, and Gavin were on the porch.
I hope we'll get a cahnce to find out~~ I read that the show is iffy to be renewed next season.

I hadn't heard that it might not be renewed next season. Bummer! I hope it is renewed, I loved the show, and so many people that I talk to loved it to!

I think Hannah did sleep with them both. HOWEVER I think Nick is the father. I think Gavin was in town for paternity testing which will rule him out.;-)

Well, I think everyone knows that Nick is the father. It's just that if Hannah admit that, and they back together, what comes next? It's the end of the series. No more Season 2. They are like the main cast. Their storyline cannot reach the conclusion yet. I don't think Gavin Goddard is allergic to nuts, and how do you explain Commander's comment on Sam's eyes?
If October Road is meant for 2 seasons long, we will know the truth by the end of the season. If not, there's no fun watching it anymore.

I really think that Nick is the father. At the end of last nights show he look on Hannas face made me think that even more. I want Nick and Hannah to get back together and I want her to admit that Nick really is the father.

I think Nick is the father. I think Hannah was afraid to tell him in the beginning because he would come back for his kid and not her. I think she needs to trust him again and see that he really is staying before she can reveal the truth. Did you see the car Gavin was driving? I'd hit him up for child support too!

Expanding on that, another idea is that maybe Sam is Nick's son, but Hannah knew he wasn't coming back (remember in the very first episode where she said that people don't come back from trips to Europe, because her uncle went and never came home?), so she slept with Gavin Goddard, knowing that she was pregnant and also that he would be able to support Sam. I know that sounds a little crazy, but he was older than her and does seem to be wealthy...
Just one of my crazy ideas.

I actually think you have a point there. She didn't think Nick would come back so if she can't have him .. she needed to find her future baby a father and quick! I truly think Nick is Sam's father and I think Nick would make a great dad, too. I don't blame Hannah for being afraid to tell him since first off she wasn't sure why he was home and coming back after ten years isn't necessarily a good sign.

The optimist I am I have to believe that Nick is Sam's father. I really want him to be, and for him to get back with Hannah.
