I've been to Finland before. It's beautiful place with lots of gorgeous natural scenery. Finland enjoys a temperate climate and I feel that it's rather cold there even during summer months. The people speak rather good English. I was very impressed. In terms of cost of living, well, it's rather high. Comparable to other European countries.

By the way, congrats on being chosen for the exchange programme! :) I hope you'll have a wonderful experience studying in Finland.

Yes, Finnish is not close to English or any other language so that makes it very difficult for foreigners to learn it. Still, I'm sure you'll get to learn some words or phases during your stay there. Many people there also speak Swedish so maybe you'll get to learn some as well. Good luck! :)

so many thanks for your message, velvetprinzess! i hope this exchange program will benefit me not only in the study but also in other aspects, for example, to improve my oral english, to make some new friends. it will be great if i can speak finnish after the exchange, but i have heard that finnish is very hard to learn.
