Original or Remake?

What do you prefer: The original 1969 Night of the Living Dead or the 1990 remake? I personally think they are both good. The original though has a somber feeling that takes you through out the movie, and for being black & white really has a special classic note. On the other hand, the remake takes you to a more tridimentional world, and you feel more like taking part in the action. Also, this is the first one I saw, so I think I'll go with the remake. How about you?

To me the original was a lot better. I feel the same way about a lot of movies that get remade. Like Psycho they should of left that movie the way it was.

This is very true. I was born in the early 1970's but I can see where you are coming from.

I liked the 1990 version. My uncle played McGruder in the film ( the zombie who fights with them and gets shot in the head with the rifle) and my father is a zombie in one of the porch scenes. It is a fun memory of when they made this film.

Hehe, that must be really great. Is he doing the "zombie shambling" from times to times, cause I really like to do it, especially when I'm in a creepy cemetery with some friends :D

I actually love and prefer the old school black and white classic. there is just something more creepy about that one. Don't get me wrong though I still love the remake though, its really cool.

Yes, nothing beats a good old classic horror, the eerie feeling it's predominant in a black&white horror movie.

I liked both of them! the original was much creepier and bleaker though. I liked the 1990 version cuz it had had color and a better ending.

Very true, nothing beats a good old black&white ;) . And yes, the ending to the remake was actually a tribute to George, as he couldn't make the ending like that in the original, because of political issues at that time.

i have to agree they were both good-and i almost never like remakes.i really like the dark filming of the first one.the black and white,i think made it extra creepy in a "body snatchers kind of way.

I too saw the remake first. I loved the movie - was the first movie to make me jump in a long time. After buying all the sequels, I finally decided to buy the original. I expected that I wouldn't like it. But was shocked. I didn't hate it. But the remake has got to be my favorite.

You did a good job ;) As I was saying, the remake had a great role for the new generation :D
