Or even a human? Where do you draw the line on meat thats acceptable for dinner.. suppose each animal tasted pretty good or that you coudl prepare it in a satisfying way.. or does eating something like that have nothign to do with how tasty it is? Hey rover, dinner time!!!

I do wonder if I was so hungry would I try cat or dog. When I tune into the possibility, it is disgusting. Not because they are normally pets, but more on an energetic basis. That may offend the cat and dog lovers. But as food it is a real turn-off for me. Snake is not an uncommon food source although I haven't tried it. Apparently it does taste like chicken. Kangaroo is becoming a normal food source and is nice to eat if cooked right. It has a game taste somewhere between deer and beef. Crocodile is said to be like chicken too. Lots of things seem to taste like chicken! Why is that?

yes i guess my question develops to whether our decision of "normal" food sources is arbitrary or based on some logic worth respecting.. its weird that as humans we natural attach unequal rights to animals or at least different cultures set their own rights with "holy" animals and food animals. sometimes whats holy is just a pet dog.. though

I'm sure if it came down to a matter of my survival, I'd be content to let man's best friend become man's best meal.
